Day 7 and detoxing

it really feels very good to know and experience that i can actually be sober. At this point I’m strugglin with detox and the truth, that makes it a bit hard but in a good way. People often says that joy comes more from what we fight for that from what we are given or submitted. I’m grateful for my decision and the support. If any of u it’s also deeling with the symptoms of detox, please share your tips if u want to. Happy day.

Hi pal! Congrats on 7 days!! Those first 7 days are the hardest in my opinion. There is a search bar at top of screen. You can type just about anything in there to find old post. I typed in “vitamins for detox” and found this super informitive one…,

Well the good news is that by Day 7 you should probably be through the worst of it. By day 10 you should notice a definite decrease in symptoms. Day 14 you should be pretty good, but beware of sleep issues, they can last a while. Same with getting energy back.

Definitely keep hydrated and take a good multivitamin. If you have the energy I suggest exercise or even just taking a walk around the block. Also there is nothing wrong with catching up on sleep. Your body needs time to heal.

My wife went to the health food store and got me a bunch of vitamins. She talked to the lady that worked there and told her that her husband quit drinking. The lady pointed her toward B12 complex and one for my liver. There were 2 others I can’t seem to remember right now :flushed:

Thanks for the advice. Seems that vitamine b12 is essential, just figure out where to get it in my city. For now i don’t feel with energy at all so i guess that a walk for now. I never imagine that this would be painful, physically speaking. I consciously see the damage beyond the emotional issues. Had anyone needed to go to a medical specialist or it totally passes through days go by?

I would recommend seeing your PCP for a check up, and some bloodwork. Never know what lurks beneath the surface. The body is pretty amazing and can do a lot of healing itself, especially when not poisoning it daily.

My detox didn’t include shakes but my blood pressure was absurd, sleep not too good, sweaty palms, no concentration and no energy/will or want to do anything than the bare minimum. I used some unisom for sleep, took a multi vitamin and a liver complex with fennel with food daily, still do. Made sure to drink water. Eat, sleep, hydration and time.

Keep on trudging the road, life without alcohol can seem a daunting task. But life without alcohol for just today is a much easier goal.

Got an appointment to check everything out. Taken care of myself is a god step. Day by day. Thanks

Always a good idea. I always detoxed in rehab so I was seeing a doctor daily and having nurses take my vitals every 4 hours. But usually when I quit I was in really rough shape. Request blood work too. That’s how I found out about my liver problem. Thanks alcohol and painkillers! Dicks.
