Lurking thoughts and temptations

So everyday I find myself thinking that rinning away and escaping reality to go get loaded just one more time to say fuck it all but I know that in the long run its just not going to be worth it it wasn’t worth it the first time j went through my addiction to heroin

What do you want to run away from?

@Clinton_Mccammon I’m known as the homework nazi :smiling_imp: :nerd: Go get yourself some paper, a notebook, a paper bag…I don’t care…and write down the following:
*10 things you want to accomplish in sobriety
*10 things that you are grateful for today
*20 reasons why you shouldn’t drink/use
*20 reasons/benefits why you want to be sober
*A goodbye letter to your ex (Heroin) and all the ways she did you wrong
*20 things you used to love to do (hobbies, interests, joys)
*A letter to the new, sober you

Hi @Clinton_Mccammon and welcome to the forum. Also “welcome to the club” sigh - most of us have or are trying to escape something or have lurking thoughts. Sound like you know from a previous addiction. It’s not even worth it in the short run.
