I am 42 years old and have not been able to go without a drink for more than 2 days for many years. i am 1.5 days sober and will attend my first AA this evening. To be honest, i do not know how to live with out drinking, but i know i have to change or it will kill me. On top of being an alcohalic, I am also a type 1 diabetic. I am scared to live without drinking, even though it has ruined my life!!

You can do this @Duke I have the same thoughts even though i have some sobriety. Living without ever drinking again may seem scary but its all in our heads! Keep checking in here, we have your back!

Way to go @Duke. Enjoy the meeting. Getting with a bunch fellow recovering Alcoholics will be a reassuring moment. You’ll see that many people struggle with the same thing.
