I’m 29 I’m 12 days sober haven’t been this sober since I was 21 . Does anyone get sudden burst of sadness and depression? I was drinking about 2-3 liters of blue Amsterdam a week.

Quitting alcohol definitely can make your emotions yo-yo…or just more aware of how you’re really feeling without the alcohol to mask it. At least, that’s been my experience. Are you talking to a therapist or anything? Might be worth exploring as you get your feet under you.

i experience mood swings like that sometimes too, it’s my bipolar.
give it some time, uunless you think it’ll cause you to want to hurt yourself

Sudden mood swings are completely normal at 12 days. It took me a while to balance out. You’re doing great hitting 12 days. Stick with it. It’s definitely worth the effort. Time sober heals a lot.

Congratulations on your 12 days!! And yes, totally normal to have an excess of emotions now that the alcohol is not submerging them.
