Alrighty this is my normal breaking point. I even avoided stopping at the gas station on my lunch hour for fear I would drive right past and pick up a tall boy. Not this time sweet sweet MN craft beer. Can’t wait to hit the gym later and take out a little aggression.
Feeling good! First day without a hangover in … I honestly cannot remember. Weeks? Months? Just wanted to share.
good luck with your goals folks! Anything worth having requires dedication and work. Don’t give in!
Hi Adam, welcome to the forum. How’s that feel, waking up hangover free? Don’t forget this awesome feeling, keep checking in with us, and when cravings hit (and they will!), search for help, there’s always somebody online willing to give support!
Thanks Jesile. It feels fantastic and I really dig how supportive everyone is here. I’ve tried to quit drinking alone before and it just never pans out. So I def feel more at ease seeing I’m not alone in this and that many ppl face the same struggles I do.
I believe doing this alone is not an option. There are many ways to quit (AA, Smart, reading books on quitting drinking etc), chose the one that suits you, but look for a support system. It’s only then, that it really worked for me. I tried doing this on my own for several years, this group has been one of my main crutches! Almost 6 months in! Stay strong!
Six months seems a long ways away! Congrats on that! I’ll be there around October. I’ve been reading some AA strategies and tools so … I’m feeling pretty optimistic
It’s the longest I’ve done in the past 10 years approx. Just take it one day at a time. Make a list with your “why’s” you want to stop in the first place. My list was pretty long… When cravings hit, read your why’s!
That is the most important day!!! If you can do one, you can do nore. Alcohol is addictive. Every day you dont drink, you break that addictuve cycle and it’s power over you.
Pink clouding, or pink cloud syndrome, describes a stage of early addiction recovery that involves feelings of euphoria and elation. When you’re in this phase, you feel confident and excited about recovery.Feb 10, 2020
