30 Plus Days and Still Foggy

I am now at Day 33 of no drinking or drugs. I am doing really well and don’t really have an urge to use anymore. My question is…When did everyone’s body feel normal again? I am still tired every single day and have trouble remembering things that I did the day before. Being sober I thought would have helped that. I drank and smoked weed heavily for about 5 years with a few stints here and there if stopping. I know it takes time but just wondering what everyone else experienced. I am happy being sober but want to feel normal again!!

Are you recalibrating your mind? Sometimes feeling these symptoms is all in your head.

If not, are you working out, taking vitamins, stretching everyday? I know that lifting and yoga has always made a difference in my energy levels.

I’m 70 days sober today and I was feeling the same way at around 30 days. I was so tired and my brain foggy. All I wanted to do was plop on the couch and sleep. It starts to change. I look at it like your body is working extra hard to heal from all the stress it was put through. It will take time but gradually you will get your clarity back. Take it as easy as you can now. Also B vitamins helped me a lot as well as trying to eat more veggies. Walking or any exercise helps too, though at that stage, I couldn’t get up the energy most days. Around the 40 day mark, I started noticing my energy increase and mind started working again. And it keeps getting better. This is a phase of recovery! Keep it up, you are doing great!

I have been working out and eating healthier. I guess I could take more supplements that would help me. After doing research I guess because I trashed my brain for so long it’s going to take a while to get it back!

People in addiction lack B vitamins, omega-3 and magnesium…incorporate those foods into your diet to see if it makes a difference.
