Congratulations Derek! I’m so happy to see this post so I can ask my favorite question…what’s been your favorite change in the last 7 years?

Thank you everyone. There’s quite a few of you who were here when I joined this forum at 100 days sober. And a few who joined not long after. There’s too many to name but you all have been an integral part of sobriety. You helped me learn and grow in my sobriety. Watched me make more than a few mistakes. And called me on my bullshit more than a few times, especially the mods :joy::joy:.

@MandiH i think the biggest and best change has been learning the ability to admit I was wrong.

Major congratulations on the seven years. As always I appreciate your contributions to this community. Always keeping it real And honest. This is nothing to play games with. It’s funny because for me personally and maybe a lot of other people the drugs and alcohol gave me this false Feeling that everything is supposed to be great or euphoric but that’s not life. Life is messy sometimes but it’s way easier to deal with these problems sober because we make better decisions and have the tools. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and what works and what hasn’t.

Congratulations! I think it is important to show that recovery is more than sobriety, and recovery is not always fun/easy, but worth it!

Huge congratulations Derek on 7 years!!! I have always really appreciated your blunt, no bs attitude bcuz i was (and still am) someone that needs to hear it like it is. The soft approach doesnt work for me and so reading ur comments and posts really have helped me sooo much in my journey.
And 7 years is incredible work! U have been thru so many ups and downs and still stay 100% recovery focused. Ur definitly an inspiration to me and im sure many others  Hope ur enjoying ur day!
