A few new features for our community

Hey everyone!

We have a few new features that have been added to the community.

Reactions

First up is emoji reactions. Instead of just liking a post and leaving a heart on it, you can now respond with a set of emojis.

Footnotes

Next, we have footnotes. You can add them to your post like this:

A sentence that needs a footnote. ^[The footnote]
Another sentence that needs a footnote. ^[The second footnote]

Here’s an example. [1]

Dates

Another new feature that will probably be used more is the ability to add a date. Tap the + button when making a post, then select date. You can add one that looks like this:

2025-08-13T15:00:00Z

or

2025-08-14T07:00:00Z

It will also be dynamic based on the reader’s time zone!

Presence

The community will now show other people (up to five) replying to a post while you’re busy replying.

I hope you enjoy the new features. There are some more that I am thinking of adding in the future.

Thanks Robin

I also noticed that the like notifications can be dismissed with one button rather than clicking on each individually. Appreciate all you do - really excited for the multiple reactions

Wanted to ask about this, which is on the newer side -

From what I can tell with the new formatting, there’s no way to see the full list of people who have liked a post now? You get the first 6 or 7, then you click the little arrow and it gives you some more, but not all. No way to expand further than that (can’t click “17 more”, can’t click the arrow to expand further, etc).

Personally there’s one emoji I’d like added which is a sad one like  to give when somebody shares something, well, sad.

Thanks for all you do always Robin.

Silly question…how do I pull up the option to choose a different emoji? It seems I can only  posts.

This seems to function the same regardless of the new emoticon reactions. I tried disabling them, and while the layout is different, you still can’t see everyone if the list is too long.

On mobile you can long-press the heart icon to bring up the full list. On PC, you can hover over the heart icon to bring it up.

I don’t necessarily think it’s part of these new capabilities, but it is a new issue I’ve encountered. A week ago (give or take a few days) I was able to see the full listing no problem

@Lisa07 That made me smile for the first time today. I mean, clearly you’re not.And still, you saying it made me smile.:kissing_heart:

@Robin

I only started seeing this as of this morning. Before you could see the full list of who liked a post (no matter the length)

I also noticed that I can no longer copy my tag list from a previous post (like I used to do in the coffee thread). I can copy the post but not the @

Edit - think this may be fixed now… I can copy now as long as I select words first and even the. It’s not always as easy to do so

Thank you @robin I see the latest update also allows attachments now up to 10 MB. :hugs:
