I absolutely love the end of this. My sponsor reminds me often I have free will and all she can offer are suggestions. This is one of my favorite parts-I needed the freedom to connect to my higher power and see how it works out when I listen. I was free to have a god of my understanding-I was not stuck with the god I was introduced to as a kid. I’m not forced to do things in only one very specific way. Yes, this book has a wonderful foundation for me if I’m willing to go that route and I have found it to be an easier and softer way. But I get to expand and try new things too. I don’t have to be perfect, I just have to keep doing my best to practice these principals one day at a time and in doing so, I find myself trudging the road of happy destiny.
I am grateful for these people that came together almost a century ago to share this design for an entirely new way of living. ![]()
That last paragraph is what the host reads at the end of each episode of the SoberSpeak podcast. I just love it. We are free, free to choose a surrendered life. What a price we paid to learn it, but so grateful!
