Lorna Shore was absolutely amazing. Hearing Will Ramos make insane, inhuman sounds with his voice was a top tier experience and the guitar solos by Adam De Micco were legendary. The rain didn’t stop me and my friends from seeing such a great performance

This is my next festival starting this Wednesday. I’ve been going for a few years, bought tickets in 2019 for 2020 and it didn’t happen because COVID happened, but every year since I’ve made the pilgrimage to Cheddar Gorge for what has turned into my favourite festival on the entire UK festival circuit. About 20k music nerds from all around the world converging on a farm in Somerset, England.
Is there any listed here that you wouldn’t mind seeing?

I’m looking forward to Primus, I’ve never seen them before. I’ve seen ND a few times and I love it when Barney has his political vents. 
Primus live is amazing, I’ve seen them twice. Les Claypool is truly a wizard on bass. If you have the opportunity, just check out his hands while plays. It’s unreal

It’s time for me to drop a big one!
I think there were a total of 96 bands/artists playing over the weekend and we saw 44 of them with 43 full sets, it beats my previous festival record by a long chalk. Whilst it was absolutely sublime to be amongst all that talent blessing my ears, my eyes and my soul - seeing so many was actually exhausting. Starting at 11am and going until about midnight with a 2 hour break for a siesta somewhere in the middle was a long assed day and caused me to neglect a couple of basic human needs. Don’t worry, I didn’t soil myself, but I did get dehydrated which I think contributed to a dose of the manflu lurgy. Was it worth it? Hell yeah!

Last week I did an extreme music festival where drone, black metal and doom were the staple courses on the menu. This weekend has been a time for mixed music of the popular variety.
Sobriety was king 
for both 
No camping for this festival, we plump for a budget hotel in the city centre and commute to site via a shuttle bus. It’s a huge festival, 2nd in size to Glastonbury.

Door openers, local band psychedelic metal i think from what I could gather and saw of them. Cool sound, would like to see them again.
Shrunken.
North Island based Hardcore band stools damn tight super solid band. Got a good little pit going with the kids throwing down. Definitely happy I got to see these guys finally.
I love local shows just being able to have a yarn to the musos makes my night being able to thank them for their presence and abilities.

Local boys, a couple of friends play in this band, heaps heavy and tight as can be! Always smash out a great show.

If you like Slam you should know this name. These guys are big all over the world in the slam scene but they are just our mates who play music here at home. Hella good yarns with the lads pre and post show. Face melting goodness. 200 head bar, I see them again in october supporting lorna shore in a 1000 head venue. Cannot wait too see them tear the roof off there.
