So hi, my name is Alli and honestly I don’t know if this is even a thing because all of the peoole in my life act like I’m stupid when I say “I have a problem with Marijuana”. They act as if this isn’t a problem anyone has ever had and that I’m just being dumb. It can’t be healthy to smoke from the second you wake up to the second you pass out, not remember a damn thing you did the day before but smoke, not want to do anything but smoke, physically hurt if for some reason you haven’t been high in the past 5 hours… Honestly I never would have even though “Hey, I might have a bit of a problem” until I got sent to a drug class for this possession tocket I got in December, when I was given the piece of paper to fill out and describe the times I smoked the reasons I smoked and whatever else I honestly just wrote “LIFE” across the paper. At the time my friends were all passing a joint in my car after the class talking about how funny it was, I just kind of thought “wait… I really don’t know what I would do every day if I wasn’t smoking.” I’m 19, I started smoking when I was 12. I only know 1 person who doesn’t and will never smoke, and I just met him a month ago. None of my friends or family see this as an actual issue. What I don’t understand is how? How is it okay to be completely dependent on something? Am I just crazy? Did that class just get to me? Is it dumb of me to want to stop smoking but have SUCH a hard fucking time doing it? So many questions and nobody to ask
@allilynn f you feel you have a problem with it then you probably have a problem with it. Only you can make that distinction. No one could ever convince me I was an alcoholic. Years of black outs, memory loss and destruction and I finally couldn’t deny I was an alcoholic and an addict, but only I could make that decision. (Step 1: we admitted we were powerless over ________, and our lives had become unmanageable). You don’t need to convince others that you may have a problem with marijuana, if you feel you do, the suggestions that were given to me were to find a recovery group, start going to meetings, get a sponsor and start working the 12 steps of recovery. It can’t hurt to check it out. I applaud you for discovering this at such a young age. You can start to change your life with just one step…
@allilynn I smoked marijuana morning to night. When doing it i didn’t think it as a problem. Looking back, it was a problem. Where i live it is illegal and the consequences can be very bad if caught with it or testing positive from it or any other drug from my employer. Thing is, if it is hindering you in any way then you will be doing right by making steps to stop. And when i would tell my friends im trying to stop drinking, they would say “again?, why?, lets go out and you don’t have to drink.” They just didn’t get it. Some were supportive but most still wanted their drinking buddy to go out and have fun…if fun is what you call it. Anyway, you can stop by making up your mind to do it and not worry about anyone else. You have a great support group right here.
People often write off weed as benign, but if it’s interfering with your life and you see it having a negative impact on you, then you should consider quitting.
Any “addiction” interfering with your life needs to be looked at and put in check.
If it’s something you yourself is noticing then you do not need the approval of others to tell you it’s a problem.
Your doing the right thing by opening up about it and you came to the right place, we’re all here to help in anyway we can and we all appreciate you opening up like you did.
Stay strong…you will get through this!
Please dont feel dumb! I olso smoked marihuana and clean now a couple of months.
I really can say for me it was a big life change. Smoked for 13years…
Mabey its an idea to find out what kind of happenings you had in youre past.
The reason why you put that first one on.
Try to write a lifestory for youreself so you can find out what the problem behind smoking is.
I really would recommend you to talk with youre doctor about that (please dont let him give you medication or something)
Really find out what the cause is and work on that and try to quit
There is so much more than that joint.
You will see that you can do more fun things, you can save more money, and you feel so much healthyer.
And yes youre mind can be so hard!
But you are so much stronger then that really!
Mabey There is a meeting for family nearby so they can get more information.
But always keep in mind, this is a life change for you and youre Future.
I believe you can, be strong! Im always here for a chat with you
good luck to all of you. Whether it be pot, cocaine, caffeine , etc. For me it’s weed . It’s been 21 days but all I keep thinking is my mind that I want to smoke. Whether it be for going to a concert, playing a new PS4 game because “pot makes everything more enjoyable”, or it’s not a big deal because there are worst things in the world… My need for it to do simple things have made me realize it’s a problem.
I look to all of you for strength in seeing that we all can better ourselves if we just try
