Another attempt and my last hope to stay sober and alive

Welcome Norma,

I am so happy you found this community. What a great place to get and stay sober. It really does work if you keep coming back. I am proof. Everytime I stick around I stay sober and likewise, everytime I start skipping days and weeks of checking in I pick up the drink and stay lost for another few years. It’s my secret safe place where all my secret sober friends live and I come to get strength, learn from the experience of years and years of sobriety, and feed the hope that I have for a better sober future.

Keep coming back!

Hi Norma :sparkling_heart: You are on the right path for sobriety. Like you started drinking at 17 and went to AA for the first Time at 33. I relapsed many times and was so tired…but I know now I’m not alone and life is way better without alcohol even if I’m dealing with my emotions everyday it’s something I welcome and accept for the first Time of my life. Listenning to other people who struggled or are still struggling but want to stop is helpfull …honest people who are trying their best. I know you are and just wanted to tell you , you are not alone.

Thank you for your support❤️

Welcome Norma!
Glad you found us. The more tools we have the better.

Working the AA program has been life changing for me. I had months of sobriety at different times in my life, even up to a year, on my own. Now that I practice the AA principles in all my affairs, I’ve been able to maintain 5+ years of continuous sobriety.

Hope to see you around here sharing your experience, strength and hope.

Wishing you the best on your journey!
