Rory Gallagher - Top Priority, 1979.
I got this at a record shop in Rochester, NY, on the first day of driving out here to move to the west coast last July. I was thinking, I can probably rattle off where every record I own came from and the general timeframe I bought it around. Why do I remember these things? Anyhow, I may include that info in future if I feel inclined.
Excited about this one. Rory Gallagher, one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He is also from Cork, Ireland, where my family is. Proud of that. My grandparents are buried in the same cemetery as him. I don’t think I had ever even heard of him outside of all the time I’ve spent over there. Outside of blues circles, it seems he doesn’t get as much recognition in the US.
Including a photo I took last time I went “home” (2019) of his memorial in Cork city centre.
