Alisa - I love Empire state of mind, I think Alicia Keys is very talented. Jay-Z not so sure. But I have to put a welsh spin on this tune… welcome to Newport!

The parody is great, thanks! Truthfully, I barely know who Jay Z is… just $$$$$ and the above song.

I studied literature in Wales when I was 15. Listened to this, went to his ( Dylan Thomas’) house.

Love these ladies. Last verse speaks most to me, to here.

Comfortseekers

Happiness is dangerous for the thrifty
Who enters here and doubts everything that’s beautiful
Doubts his place in the world
Who endlessly keeps longing for better days
Who wants to be alone
But no longer can

Happiness is dangerous for those that cannot share
For those that smile, but have the sob invisible high in their throats
Who lost all that they loved
Who handles things defenceless
Who chases himself into the dark of his own head, every night again
For who has given up hope
Like a sick comrade

chorus
For who and everyone
There is a place right here
For who and everyone

For those who think everything, but speak too little
Who is tired, can’t fall asleep, tossing and turning forever
For those that want to lean into the people, like they are warm blankets
Who doesn’t know who he is, always uncertain

We are the void
We want to know how to fill ourselves
We are the void
We want to know how to fill ourselves

chorus

Happiness is dangerous for the reckless
Entangled in his own self
Who eats, buys, and swallows away his own defencelessness
Hurts himself because someone else doesn’t any more
Who hears voices, but seldom a nice word
Who is afraid of being left
Leaves everybody as precaution
Who knows hearts break in many ways
Know it can be mended
Can be mended

chorus 2X

Oh no thats not the band from yesterdays concert  the band I posted is one of the biggest band in the world Slipknot :metal:

Their story is insane. They already lost 2 members of their band because of overdose. Vocalist Corey Taylor had tragic history. He tried to took his life twice. On recordings of their 3th album he wanted to do suicide from jumping from balcony, but he choosed other path and then he got sober. #Rip Paul Gray the bassist and founding member overdosed the day when his family and friends wanted to do intervention to him. He then runned away to some hotel and there was found dead by overdosing on various stuff. The band then decided to get sober all together, most members are attending AA meetings! Some of the members where still using. I think their fired them from the band because of that. Legendary drummer #Rip Joey Jordison was found dead at his home overdosed. I found their music and story to be really inspiring. Their life performances and the energy are phenomenal.

This one’s playing now as #24 on the list. I was forbidden to go the Stage show in Rotterdam, 1978 (aged 13). Last time I listened to my parents.

:grinning::hugs::kissing_heart: Happy 2024 @Mno

My parents forbade me to go see Sam and Dave when I was 13.
I called the florist, sent my Mom some flowers, called a cab to come get me and went to the show.
Lots of tables with white tablecloths with passed out people on top of the tables. First time for me seeing something like that.
A friend there I knew danced with me all night, whew.
Some other ( older) friends were there too.
As it turns out the parents ended up there too and sat in the very back till the end.
Music’s still one of my favorites.
