Peace to All
It’s funny how different generations and different locales know the same songs by different artists.
Wikipedia says that this was written in 1944.
This version by Johnny Rodriguez is the one I’m most familiar with.
In fact, I’ve seen him play it a lot, and been to many dances where he was playing, I love the song
It’s nice listening to Rod Stewart do it also.
Yes, one of my all time favorites, too @Soberbilly and very much thanks to you and this thread, I know this 2005 version which I love, love, love.
The strength and clarity of their voices.
One of the absolute best performances. Gracias, my friend.
@Tito23 thanks for posting Coltrane.
From the age of 18 to 20 I listened to lots of John Coltrane. I see on wiki he died in 1967 at age 40
Also lots of Miles Davis, particularly this album comes to mind, which I’m listening to now for the first time in
m a n y y e a r s.
Thanks. Have a good day.
Miles Davis. “A Tribute to Jack Johnson”.
Justin Hayward singling is lovely.
But just wanted to throw in this version. I’m sure I have this single in 7" white vinyl somewhere…
Love the Cream version, but I have a Hugh Cornwall cover in my record collection.
Sounds very like early The Stranglers of whom Hugh was an original member.
Not asking anyone to like this version, make up your own minds!

Here’s another version of Gloria. Maybe we should call Jim and Van the Morrison brothers. @FarFromNormal
@Mno do you know what city/ country the video you posted was filmed in ?
You’re welcome @Soberbilly
One of my favorites:
