Caught my first steelhead on my fly rod yesterday! I practiced all year, fishing for cutthroat, because I wanted to land a steelie on the fly rod! I caught 2 yesterday. Its such a different fight.

I used to build for a living. Carpenter/contractor. The economy crashed in 2008. There was no work. I started commercial fishing. Now its all I want to do. I love it!
Here’s a boat load from yesterdays grind. All our gear is set. crabs are crawling in as I type this. We start pulling day after tomorrow!
Went ice fishing today! It was a charity community event. It was also my first time ice fishing.
Had a lot of fun with my wife. We didn’t catch anything - and the darn fish nibbled all my worm off my hook before I knew it! - but it was peaceful and it was nice to take this adventure into this new activity.
