I’ve had a pretty hectic weekend and the idea of slobbing on the sofa is appealing. But I might try and get out for a few hours in the woods, I am so lucky to have the countryside on my doorstep and I feel like I should make the most of it. Plus there is so much housework to do so I feel like I need to get out of the house to avoid it properly :joy:

So I’m ok all day. Calm and focussed. Then I come to bed and every thought imaginable runs through my head. Things that may or may never happen. Worries about my daughter and school and her future. Worries about money and relationship. Worries about anything and everything. Even really stupid things. Any ideas how to switch off ?

I’m new to this forum but have many issues with problem drinking and disasters that it brings. I’m from the UK and always here.

I had a terrible racing mind at night at first. I find a notebook by the bed to write down the thoughts and get them out of my head helps.
Have you tried sleep meditation or relaxation excercises? And definitely a warm bath with lavender oil. Lavender on the pillow, herbal tea and if all else fails relaxing sleep sounds or calming music to drown out the thoughts

Welcome Charlotte

I’ve got lavender on my pillow right now and yes I use the teas. Also have some sleep apps on my phone but need to get new earphones. Perhaps putting my bloomin phone away might help !..think I may have overdone the lavender my eyes are stinging !!:crazy_face::laughing:

Oops! Yeah phones are supposed to be a no no but I must admit I’m on mine catching up here until I go to sleep and it doesn’t seem to affect me. Mind you nothing does now, I can literally fall asleep on a clothesline since about one month in  that’s one of my favourite sobriety changes

Happy sober Tuesday from Northern Ireland . Up and at it. Hope you all have a great day. No matter what the pressures we are strong and we have support for each other. So shoulders back and let’s show this day what we are made of. Personally I feel groggy and lethargic !! But it won’t beat me ! :+1:
