Bird watching

Every year we have baby swallows at the stables. But this year the babies are clumsy and flew out too soon so every time we find them somewhere we put them in de waterbowl that’s not being used  parents take good care of them so they’ll be fine as long as we look for them

Just beautiful Seb. Thanks. Uncanny how much alike your welcome swallow is to our European barn swallow. And the arrival of both species indicates the beginning of spring. Here they’re about to leave :sad_but_relieved_face:

Some shore birds and migratory birds just started to arrive from the Northern Hemisphere at The Western Treatment Plant which has an amazing array of birds. Definitely my happy place.

Just had a look at your European Barn Swallow, how amazing hey

This is from my kitchen looking out. When feeders get close to empty these guys hover at the window. What do they think this is a drive up window?

Cormorants always remind me of flying dragons or dinosaurs. Flying dinosaurs is a correct description of course.

Great photo @Mno . I love cormorants. One almost scared me to death once when I was scuba diving 20 feet deep. It dived right past me.

wish for a better camera. You can’t really see how magnificent all the bird activity is here.

Hate to post this but F*CK.

Flew straight into front window. Thought window broke. Hoping only knocked it out but sadly I think flying days are over. Well this is just “poopy”

Thank you for caring about that bird. That happened to me a few months ago - mourning dove, straight into my front window. I was in my office and it sounded like someone had hit the door with their fist.

I had similar hopes that it was only knocked out, but the neck was totally gone. I put on some gloves and moved it to a more dignified resting spot on the edge of my property. Sometimes it’s all you can do.
