Yesterday I wanted to buy wine in preparation for my birthday with only 3 days off alcohol. I did not get any. Today, on my birthday, my daughter had the stomach flu and I needed to attend to her quite contantly for many hours. All birthday plans were cancelled and I’m so glad I didn’t drink so I could focus on her.
One thought that helped me not drink was that it was a present to myself.
