What it is?…
Where’s all my Cali folks? I’m near(ish) San Luis Obispo these days. Check in… wanting to make connections with peeps anywhere in the world but possibly with those closer to my realm.
Question?
What hobbies have you picked up or restarted or are thinking about now in sobriety?
For me it’s starting to go on walks, short and long and barre my headphones and singing at the top of my lungs!!!
Reggae mostly but I love alllll genres.

Im from Canada so no where near you but i have picked up a few hobbies since i got clean and sober. Baking custom cakes and cupcakes, doing some volunteer work, and I got back into weight lifting/exercise. Working out has made a huge impact on my recovery.

That’s awesome. Baking can absolutely be a type of therapy. And working out most definitely! And honestly hobbies and things we enjoy are so important to our sobriety. I feel as though they are types of self care and love. Being able to get into things we enjoy and love. I absolutely am ok with us not being near. I only made it Cali specific cause I have no friends in my area. I’ve only lived her a little over three years and haven’t been able to make many connections. But I’m down to chat with you whenever. Feel free to message me. I only learned today that dms are on this app too.

Wow. That’s so awesome! 30 years! Cheers
My apologies for the late response. Had a long evening/night and I thought I’d have time to respond before.
Goldsmith classes!!! That sounds so interesting and amazing. How are you liking the class?
That’s so cool I actually walk a lot. Not as of late because I just had my second child October of last year and my body is revolting and I’m unable to walk long distances, which I used to do regularly. At least 4 miles daily. I miss it. I actually might have to have surgery on my disc because it doesn’t have the padding inbetween like it’s supposed to. I deal with a lot of nerve pain. It’s so uncomfortable and unbearable at times because it affects all my joints.
It’s totally cool that we’re not close geographically. I just love connecting with my people, who I mainly find in recovery if anywhere else at all. My safe zone are those who are on similar paths as me, healing and growing each day and doing the work involved!
I feel a bit bad that I made the post Cali specific but am so happy Theo two of you who replied are not in Cali! And you weren’t offended by my post specificities.
Much love and respect

Goldsmith class is very interesring, I learn a lot.
Made my own silver ring with a center stone in it.
That was fun!
I’m sorry about your back pain, I think what you have is called a hernia? I know from others dealing with that it’s very painful Hope you can have you’re surgery soon?
I liked being in California, hope to be back some day.
Have a good night, my day just has started. It’s 6:50 in the morning here where I live.
Coffee and get myself ready for work!
See you!

I hope you are having a lovely day. I’m up now it’s 6:30 here in Cali.
To be honest I’m nervous about surgery. I’m gooing it doesn’t come to that. It would be near impossible to make rent and bills if I’m out of the game and hubby has to stay home to take care of me. But I am also a bit at peace with it. It is a solution and that’s what I’m looking for. Fear is not my future anymore.
I would absolutely love to see your jewelry! If it’s not too much trouble to link a photo to this chat that would be awesome. I love silver jewelry and colorful gems and stones. The wedding ring I want is actually a blue stone and I just think it’s gorgeous. I’ve never been into traditional diamond wedding rings. Just never caught my fancy. But that’s me. Everyone has their likes and not so much likes. lol
The doctor said I might have degenerative disk disease, which is just common with aging. I am scheduled for a mri in a few weeks to determine what needs to be done to fix the problem and my pain.
There are a lot of lovely places in California. If it weren’t so expensive it would be even better.
Talk later
((Hugs))

I use to live in the bay way back in the day, I love it out there, SF specifically. I definitely became a nature buff after living out there a few years. I have most of the same hobbies exercising and reading I just do them sober now

California is beautiful. I love the trees and forest and the birds are amazing too.
I don longer live in the bay, I’m on the central coast, nearish to San Luis Obispo. I love it here too though. Lots of places to hike and adventure. They have a monarch grove that in a few months will be filled with the butterflies in clusters as far as you can see. I hope to go visit this year and take as many photos as I can!
Thanks for replying! Hope you’re having an awesome day.
And I love that this app brings us all together no matter where we are on the map!

Here is one of the rings I’ve made, the one with the center stone: a Labradorite.
It’s a simple ring because I’m not that good (yet
).
Here is a picture from it without the stone and I haven’t polish it yet.
In september my class begins again. Looking forward to it.
Yes, surgery isn’t fun. But having all that pain like you have now isn’t fun either
I hope the mri will give a answer and a road to follow.
19: 55 here, workday has done and chilltime started. Tomorrow I work as wel.
Have a nice weekend Nicole
