Can't...stop.. eating

Day one and all I am doing is feeding my face. I’m not even hungry but I don’t know what to do with myself! I made sure I drank all the rum and wine in the house before the New Years ball dropped at midight last night, and spent half the day today lazy and hungover.

Same. At first it was like I rediscovered food. It will pass and you’ll find your balance again. Be kind to yourself in the first few days and indulge if needed. Anything to stay sober and keep busy!

Exactly what Elisabeth said!! I ate lots of previously “off limits food” at the start. The good news was no weight gain followed. The sugar cravings have definitely started to subside now. But I will still treat myself as I still think a little treat is better than a lot of toxic harm. Oh, and diet drinks helped too :+1:

I agree with the other lovely ladies.
Your body is probably trying to make up for the empty calories and needs its happy chemical satiated. If you deprive it, it will make it easier to go for the bottle.

Alcohol converts to sugar- so give it what it wants to avoid an early on relapse knowing that it will balance itself out.

Drink lots of water (adding apple cider vintager flushes the toxins out and feeds your cells good things) to keep detoxing.

i feel ya. I am at one week yesterday and suddenly my appetite came back. i am pretty strict with myself about weight/diet and exercise, even when i was drinking i factored a binge night into my daily intake… so appetite regain is not ideal. i think we just have to get through it best we can and i guess its better if we eat an extra plate in the first few weeks as long as we dont drink. using the extra time from not drinking to do a little extra cardio

Definitely finding myself stuffing my face any chance I get as well… I’m 3 days in…

@DanielleRae. I’m 25 days into sobriety and I’m still eating like a bulldozer… I love being sober, but I’m food drunk. I’ve got to go buy a bunch of healthy stuff to snack on to curb this ravenous craving for sweet, savory, and anything horrible for my waistline! Ugh
