Celebrating success/ treating yourself

So today I booked a hair appointment to have a whole new restyle !

It’s going to be a treat / self care for myself for hitting my 30days.

It’s extra motivation and also I’ve been putting the money aside I would normally have spent on drinking & or drugs to pay for it .
I would never have been able to afford a full salon treatment like that while using .

So how do people feel about celebrating their success / progress with something nice ?

Or is booking it a week in advance jinxing myself ?

Sounds really nice! 30 days, yay! Way to go! I treated myself for buying a new wrist watch for hitting the 90 days. While using and drinking I couldn’t afford to buy anything extra, so it’s really nice to have some extra money.

Sounds great :+1:
If you are doing the work ODAAT. You’re not jinxing anything.
I always fancied a pedicure at my milestones. Pampering myself was is a great reward for the hard work it takes to become and stay sober.

Yes. This has helped me make recovery fun!
It’s nice to have things to show and things to do instead of drinking.

I say you should do it. You deserve a gift to yourself. There’s nothing like a new restyle. It will give you a great confidence boost. Be prepared, people are going to tell you how great you look! And you’re sober!

Go for it!

Patting ourselves on the back and realizing we’ve done good is such a hard thing to do sometimes. Why that is is a mystery to me! Even when i say that, i see I’m reluctant to congratulate myself.

Well i did it, i did well and i treat others with respect and love. I’m going to get that new tattoo, i fricking deserve it.

I bought earrings or a new book every month of my first year. I was saving the money (and more) and had the lucid free time to actually read or get ready in the morning. In the early days, I think it is great.
