Hi Knox. Welcome!
Those dreams seem so real, don’t they.
Much better than waking up trying to figure out what you did the night before though!
WTG on those 6 days!!
We are glad you are here.

Checking In: 23. Keto: 2. All I keep thinking about is sweets :lollipop: Have a dull headache that comes and goes and was feeling nauseous on my drive home this morning. Was told not to worry about calories the first week, so I’m eating ALL the meats. Last few days have been calm. Feeling less and less insecure the longer I go without drinking. It’s been nice remembering and not overthinking any actions that might have occurred while under the influence. Anywho. Work tonight :baby:t2::hotel::baby_bottle:Hope everyone has a good night!

@Opentheclouds You are on the right path. Getting sober doesn’t mean your problems magically disappear. If anything, they might seem worse, since you are no longer numbing yourself. You said you are just starting a job… that’s awesome and a big positive step in the right direction. A wound doesn’t heal overnight. Stay the course. Stay strong. Stay sober.

Checking in at the end of day 25. Day 1 of my very first sober vacation. MAN I was craving baaaaad the minute we arrived, until about 30 minutes ago when the 4am wake-up, flight and car ride all caught up to me. Its 845pm - everyone else is still drinking and I’m off to bed lol. It was hard, but I did it anyway, and I’m going to wake up to day 26. Happy Saturday night all!!

A keto flu remedy is pickle juice or broth in a mug! If you can stomach them, they are great for electrolytes and curing that keto headache. Also, have a fantastic time at work!!:grin:

Hello everyone. Day 173.

Feeling very blessed to have made it this far. Getting very close to another major milestone.

Started the 30 day alcohol free experiment today. Now, we all know that alcohol is not my DOC. In fact, ive drank less than a handful of times in my lifetime and I’ve never been drunk.

But I wanted to see if Annie Grace’s words would be able to reach someone like me. And instead of asking others here if This Naked Mind would be a good read for sex and porn addicts, perhaps I should read and see for myself.

I promise to apply the principles to me in the best way possible. So far, the first day speaks a lot to me. I have a feeling that I’m going to get a lot out of this.

Thank you, everyone.

  1. 18 months. This weekend so far has had its moments. I have a booth at a local festival. Beer is everywhere. Im across from the beer tent and there if an open bar being hosted right next to me.

I’ve made it 2 days with multiple offers to drink. I’m not planning on giving in. Less than 24 hours to go lol.

Today was my Dad’s retirement party. I’ve been looking forward to this all summer. As a bonus a couple of my Dad’s friends came, both whom I haven’t seen in years. My Dad was very excited to tell his buddies that I had quit drinking and was coming up on a year. One asked why, said I had some health issues due to drinking, and that I was a raging alcoholic. We laughed and laughed… then he asked, really? He was in disbelief because he pretty much watched me grow up. But yeah, was a good night for being 350 consecutive days sober.

  1. Another weekend filled with homework. Went to the movies and saw “IT 2”. I liked it but I like this kind of movie. Some cheesy parts, funny parts and Pennywise  did catch me off guard once. Lol. My boss is out of town Monday so I think I’m going to take the day too. Long weekend #2. I’m working on way to get every Monday off right now. I’m a lot more productive at work with that extra day off.

Hi @Knox, welcome here! 🙋

I would love to have that book in Dutch @KevinesKay, but it doesn’t exist yet.

Congratulations @Joy, 2 months is a great achievement! :tada:

Curious about part 2 @Quitter02. Have to see it. Read and seen everything from Stephen King. I’m his number 1 fan :joy: (Misery).
