Yeah I had my 1st drinking dream last night. Funny thing the brain. Hope today is easier for you, well done. Maybe these dreams are cravings while asleep or something.

@SoberWalker I take a lot of vitamin D, but super excited to try this. I try to get sunshine on my face daily, but I’m sooooo sensitive to the cold, that going outside in winter makes me angry lol. I can’t wait to try this out this winter. Thank you!!

Day 3… still feeling like I deserve to feel (physically) but not letting that hold me back. Made all my appointments yesterday and worked from the office rather than from home. It was a very stressful and productive day. More of a good stress, but a lot of insecurity over this one deal that’s getting to me a bit. I was inventing this whole ridiculous scenario in my head, goodness lol. I was able to talk myself down and of course all was better than ok. But man! I sure can go into some crazy internal spirals.

Day 209
My lists have lists.
A couple things on there I don’t want to do simply because the likelihood of failure/frustration is pretty high. And there really
are no particular negative consequences for leaving them on the list, but fixed properly could be beneficial.
I dunno. Maybe I’ll stop staring at the list and set myself an alarm/timer and make myself actually stare at the problem to see if a fix comes to mind.

This calls for coffee!!!
Have a fab day, y’all.

My two mantras of the day:

  1. I’m not going to drink today. Today I’m going to take it easy on my body and eat some good food, drink water and relax.
  2. What you do after you fall down is you get back up. It would be nice to fall less frequently, and that is the goal but if you do fall down what you do is get right back up again. Dont wait, get back up immediately. Get back up again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

Full spectrum lights help a lot too. Maybe it’s the same thing? I used to have one. It really did help in the winter.

I reached an important milestone of a full week of abstinence from compulsive overeating! :grinning:

Structuring my meals & snacks helps.
I have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and one to two snacks. I make sure each meal has 3+ food groups.

I aim for one cup serving or twice the serving on the label unless individually packaged item like apple sauce cup or average candy bar. For a rich food, I aim for less than cup.

Treat food comes at end of lunch and dinner to complete the meal. This curbs the blood sugar spike, too.

This food plan is from Dr. Marcia Herrin, a registered dietitian affiliated with Dartmouth University.

It’s great for learning normal eating!

Day 4! Fought off cravings yesterda, but otherwise still clinging to hope and determination.

Sleeping has been rough. I expected to have a hard time falling asleep since I’m not sedating myself with drink, but I’m still oversleeping like my body is recovering from a night of drinking. Anybody else have this? Does it stop soon?

How many hours of daylight do you have now versus the peak of summer?
