Day 6 is over with

Had a rough day, but I am not about to let that stop me. It’ll only be more rough if I go back now. Hanging in there counts as long as I still hold onto my sobriety.

20 Days! :clap:t2::partying_face:2⃣0⃣ - that’s brilliant work @Betterbee. Love how happy you sound @JUSTINo . @Becsta, you’re a fighter and you are doing a cracking job - I am in awe of you :raised_hands::star_struck:. Congratulations on three months @VSue :muscle:t2: - what an achievement!! @Charlie_C, have a strong day 1, you can do this if you fight hard enough and for long enough my friend. @Swim_Track_18, the trick is to just keep going, go to bed, get up and repeat :ok_hand:t2:.

55 days for me and feeling really resolute and strong after reading this thread on here which some of you might find helpful  What I learned from being sober for a year (2017) and then drinking again the next (2018)

Yesterday was hard work. My spous bought himself a bottle of liqueur. My used to be favorite one. I stick to my water, but had a lot of creepy convincing voices is my head. Blocked them with Netflix
:raising_hand_woman: See you later, off to work!

Good morning friends - day 1 :frowning: I’ll keep fighting. If for no other reason, maybe today will be the catalyst - it is our 30th wedding anniversary! Have a great day!

Checking in Day 158 - I’ve been hardly motivated at all this last week or two to do anything except play guitar and look at guitars which I can’t afford to buy lol

I have a job interview today for a restaurant that i really want to work at and i’m a little complacent as the job i’m actually going for is a gateway job that I could probably do with my eyes closed…I could be wrong but we’ll see. If I don’t get it, that’ll be me told lol

Im also hopefully going to be starting volunteering at a local music school for kids which I’m dead nervous about but if you have me on facebook (which none of you do lol), it’s incredibly important to me that we pass on knowledge of music and put instruments into kids hands instead of iPads and phones which i’m very publically vocal about. Im going along on Wednesday to observe the lesson and to meet the kids - It may or may not work out, who knows? My dear mother and stepfather are specialist trainers so i’m trying to pick there brains on teaching how to teach - any teachers here to give me some tips?

I’m not a “teacher” but I am good at teaching others. You’ve got to get to their level, show why it’s important and give value to it for them. Then you can show them how you play and show them something easy they can do as well as how to progress. Good luck on that and your interview, you’re doing great things!

Thanks @MandiH  - Ill keep that in mind especially as I always considered myself as still learning. I used to instruct younger kids when I was in 6th form but they were all fairly au fait with the topic, really just wanted help with playability - these kids are going the whole hog with theory and performance. 2 completely different animals. @TeejLazer , did you ever teach? I’ve nailed the paradise solo by the way - what a ballache.
