I usually don’t get any quality sleep until somewhere from Day 10-21. Who knows this time? :sleeping:

I am trying to find online meetings, I read the big book, I pray , I meditate, I speak with my therapist, but still my disease wins… I can not wait for meetings re open so I can start working with a sponsor

Day 91

Had a great meeting tonight with my home group. They set up a private meeting for group members only so we can catch up and talk about our lives much like we do during in person meetings.

The big takeaway for me is gratitude. Im extremely grateful to have a supportive wife. She has always been there to help with my sobriety, even after the years of relapses. Im also grateful that my son is extremely happy and healthy. He makes me smile more every day.

The number one thing I’m grateful for is my sobriety. Anything is possible as long as I dont pick up that first drink. Every aspect of my life has improved and gets better every day. Im grateful that I don’t have to drink today. One day at a time.

Realized I had not checked in today. It’s already evening here and today has been a blah day. Ended up being lazy and sleeping most of the day, only to get up later on and rush through what I was supposed to get done. Am having some using thoughts but havent acted on them. Just going to do some self care in abit and hopefully get a good sleep. This week I get some money so I’m going to plan to do some grocery shopping and whatnot with it. Try and stay recovery focused :slight_smile:

Rode the bike tonight (even though it is cold as crap in May) and just completed an online meeting.

Day 562. Tuesday is my busiest day and I didn’t mind that so much today. Often I get wrapped up in wanting more time to do other things, and I was able to let that go today and just focus on doing what needed to be done.

I’m also nearing the end of the mental health program I’m currently taking so I’m thinking ahead to how I want to proceed from there. I’ll still be getting therapy and the like, but my schedule won’t be so intense with so much programming packed in. Got a couple weeks to think.

Day 66. It has been raining non stop the past 3 days here in Michigan and it’s brings your mood down so much… i just want the sun!

However! The sky finally started to clear up tonight and my mom, sister, and myself decided to have a dance party in our house (we live together so have been quarantined in same spot). That energy release was an instant mood booster so for that, today was a good sober day.

Day 4 is in the book. I haven’t been sleeping well as my body is used to having drinks to get to sleep. How long does it take to adjust to “normal” falling sleeping without wine? Today I took my mind off drinking by making a homemade pizza and going on a second evening walk with my golden retriever. Staying busy helps, as does decent weather to get out of the house when I can’t really do anything else during the lock down.

What is a SMART meeting that several people mentioned?

Finally back at a week! Was not on purpose, but my husband had the day off, so the family went out for ramen for lunch. So nice to eat food I haven’t eaten, has been weeks since we have. I can tell I am feeling mentally good, because I am flossing.
Edit: flossing my teeth, not the dance, lol

  1. Coffee. Work. Stress there. Make it through today and it’s my weekend. Whatever happens using won’t help so I’ll stay sober and clean. Have a good day all. Love from Amsterdam. The cypress is living on my way to/from work. Reminds me of Texas.
