Checking in daily to maintain focus #30

@Myssy Congratulations on 8 months.
@Penguin Congratulations on 30 days. Might not seem an important milestone to you but it’s a sign of continuing to fight the good fight.
@WCan Congratulations on 8 months.
@Soundlab Congratulations on 3 weeks.
@Dazercat 500 days is amazing and so are you.

334 days/11 months. Woke up in a mood this morning and am crawling back into bed for a bit. Made plans for my lil family to go shopping, swimming and dinner out to celebrate my 11 months. At the moment I don’t want to be around anyone and am craving alone time. Tempted to tell them to carry on without me. Not too sure where this is coming from but I will ride it out the best I can.

Checking in as I’m closing in on day 4 sober. I feel like I’ve discovered who I always was. I have that same youthful exuberance and passion I had before I medicated myself with alcohol…but only now I’m in a place where I can work through the reasons why I started to drink in the first place. I am incredibly grateful that I hit upon sobriety now while I’m still relatively young and have so much of a wonderful life to look forward. As always, love hearing the stories of people moving forward in the same vain! :grin::green_heart::green_heart::green_heart:

Sorry you’re not feeling your best @Squirt. I’ve seen a lot of people go through the same thing around a milestone. Maybe hold your celebration off a day or 2.
Congratulations on 11 months!!

That’s here, too, friend. The protective measures are increasingly restrictive, not easing up - this as we head into summer, when everyone usually makes plans for the break. (Were it not for Mom’s broken hip, it would have been difficult to justify my trip as essential.)

You know, though, as well as I do - that when things are good, being sober feels great - and when things aren’t so good (or feeling desperate, less hopeful), that is exactly the wrong time to drink. Bottom line? Sober’s the only way to keep stepping into our days, walking through them, whatever they bring.

It will end. And you’ll come through. Maybe have a guiness clear or two. :wink: :orange_heart:

If I could make this cake 500 layers, I would!

Congrats on your 500 days. Thank you for the immense amount of support, camaraderie, humour, understanding, and perspective - oh, and gratitude! - you show up here with and give to all, every day.

Grateful for you, delighted for you!, and celebrating you. :orange_heart:

279 days no alcohol.
247 days no cocaine.

As I do most days, I spent a couple of hours reading this morning, I am over half way through the last book in a series I’ve been reading, the first fiction books I’ve read in over a decade, and I’ve really enjoyed them so much, I don’t want them to end!

Then I walked to the shopping centre to collect my glasses, I don’t think I’ve ever had such clear vision! :star_struck: I bought 14 more of the healthy range ready meals for lunch and dinner for the week, and also got my hair cut, which always helps me feel better :blush:

I didn’t struggle with any cravings for the yum yums this morning, and I haven’t struggled as much as yesterday with hunger, so it’s been a bit more pleasant, though on that note it’s dinner time for me now, I am enjoying sitting down with meals and watching Mr Robot on Prime 3 times a day.

35 days. Not many alcohol thoughts yesterday or today so far. Yay. Sending supportive vibes to everyone. Kind of tired and a little nervous because I’m singing a solo in a Zoom recital today. Going to go practice now… :notes::musical_score:

  1. Got news today that I get to be part of the 2022 weight watcher pre-diabetes/diabetes trials for the app. For the virtual platform, I got picked out of 300 health coaches. It’s a huge honor and will look awesome on my resume. To say I’m stoked is an understatement. As human beings we need to be recognized for the hard work we do each and every day for it to be worth it. I’m glad my hard work is paying off.

Hi all, just checking in, feeling under the weather the last couple of days with sinus infection, so been laying about feeling sorry for myself, pain started to get better, so catching up this evening. No desire to drink which is good, normally would have drunk to mask the pain and then felt twice as bad etc etc.

See an advert for Russel Brand Recovery videos on Commune, I have listened to Day 1 and some useful bits and good reminders, also a worksheet. May be useful for anyone early in the recovery journey. It’s a 6-day trial, but some good pointers. I have put the url below

@Mephistopheles your swim spot looks perfect, loving it is lined with the tall trees, and the bike is retro-cool, and that it is still going, class.

@Sanuk your planting looks very successful, I would love watching them grow, they all look so healthy, I spend most time dead-heading mine :slight_smile:

@Nordique Massive Congratulations on 11 months you have done so well. Ah Russel Brand, as I mentioned above just watched one of his videos, he is in successful recovery, so his advice would be sound. I like to have a Recovery book on the go, it keeps me focused (this time)
@bomdhill - hello how are you? see you still fighting the good fight 7 days :fist_left:
@Charlie_C have a fantastic holiday, don’t work too hard, I used to do similar work myself. Congrats on 6 months, you have worked so hard to get here
