Well you mentioned that you needed a plan… go for it. None of us got sober to be miserable. As long as remaining sober is first and foremost, I’m quite sure you will find your passion. Just protect that sobriety at all costs. According to the literature, most of us are above average in intelligence with a high earning potential. I found happiness in “right sizing myself” My basic needs are very simple and the chaotic, greed filled world I was competing in only fueled my alcoholism. I had to slow down, stay sober and realize I was right where I belonged. I’m content today in general. I wish the best for you !
Checking in post morning meditation and mini workout. Finally checked out Barre workouts. I may be in love lol A little more coffee than some chores. Maybe get some outside stuff done now that it’s warm again. Midwest weather😒 love seeing some returning TS family. Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Brighter day. I’m getting ready for some nice physical work tomorrow! I’m not sure I can do a desk job anymore. At least take a break from it. Sitting in one spot for many hours under time pressure isn’t for me. I’ve been working on my fitness for the past 3 months and I’m ready for the next level up. .
Uncertainty! But why do I have to know anyhow? I’ll find out..hehehe
Have a great day, all
Wow…. Life changes seems to be the flavor of the new month. Isn’t it such a blessing to have freedom and choices ?? I was so broken and stuck in the stranglehold of my disease. It’s so refreshing to have limitless opportunities in sobriety. I’m still lazy, but today it’s by choice I hope you do whatever makes you happy and brings you peace
Day 1,649.
Hey.

Not bad at all… Some great improvements and way to go with showing up for yourself . Impressive work Chris
@Jonachav123 congratulations on your 3+ weeks. Way to be prepared for the cravings. This is what it’s all about. Having your tools in place so you can sidestep the urges and keep pushing forward in sobriety
@sober26 sorry to hear about all the cravings. Is something going on in life that may be causing these? Keep mindful like you are doing and double up with your tools / support. Going backwards offers no relief or solutions. We are here if you need us
@Trode23 great to see you checking in. Way to go with your 3+ days. Keep the momentum going strong
@NewEnglander1970 sorry to hear about your scare. Sounds horrible. So grateful you were sober and made yourself to the hospital to be looked at. A very scary moment. Hope they are able to figure out exactly what’s happening and treat it without any issues
@Climbin great to see you checking in. Totally makes sense. My mind is the same way. Takes time to heal out minds and bodies from the years of abuse we put ourselves through. Don’t give up in learning and trying new things. I do hope it gets easier
@CharlieC yeah to 2 weeks
@Butterflymoonwoman hope work went by quickly. Sorry you had to deal with it with all the pain. Sorry about your aunt. I’m sure your uncle would love to just hear from you. A good listener is at times like these very appreciated.
@NewDay1990 that hold is so intense and real. You are doing great by staying sober and not giving in. It does get easier as you stack up the days. We have all been where you are and know the struggle. The longer I stayed sober the more it helped me not wanting to repeat day 1. Keep pushing forward ODAAT
@Refreshedperspective glad you are seeing alcohol for the problem that it is. Grateful you are here working in day 1. Being here and around all these amazing people helps me know I’m not crazy or alone. I now know that my behavior wasn’t unique but a pattern of addictive living. Just because I was functioning didn’t mean I was living. Build that tool box and supportive community for yourself. ODAAT
@NewPerspective welcome back to the community David. Wonder amount of sober time . Very inspirational
I totally believe this. I know I wouldn’t be this far into my sobriety without this community. Great work on your 5 weeks of being sober
Some great ideas here as well as in What’s YOUR plan? Thread. Maybe wise to listen all the things you have tried and honestly write why it didn’t work. Changing up my routine completely, getting rid of all DOC items so I didn’t feel tempted. Finding ways to stay busy and being ok with knowing it will take time for my body and mind to regain energy. @EFountains wow! Love this! Great work on your quad digits . Keep the momentum going strong
@Noshame sorry about the tummy aches. Glad you are listening to your body. Hope the tummy feels better and cravings go away soon
@SoberOskar great to see you friend. Was just thinking of you the other day. 126 days is amazing sorry you had to walk away from a business. Well done in nor letting your vision get overtaken. You are doing wonderful things with building a whole new business. This is not easy work so be proud of yourself. Keep putting your best foot forward. Sobriety allows us to be our best selves.
@MTSober welcome to the community and it’s wonderful to see all those amazing days strung together
Checking in on Monday morning
894 days free of alcohol and weed
1309 days free of cigarettes
Glad the festival is over and I was able to help out. It was a long and tiring day. Grateful we picked up pizza for dinner.
Not so hot today as yesterday did do me in. I had to use the TENS unit majority of the day so that I could function. Too much electric stimulation may not be good either. I knew I would need a day or so of recovery but was not prepared for this.
I’m trying to make the best out of it and breathe through the pain. Intensity of the pain and all my symptoms flaring up are making it hard to focus. Grateful I am not listening to the voices to turn to drink or weed to take the edge off. Reading here has helped me reinforce how powerful those lies are
Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day… sending you all so much love
Monday late lunch check in.
Another sober summer weekend in the books. Morning sports activities with my daughter both days.
A lunch out with friends, an afternoon with the in-laws, and an afternoon/evening bbq dinner party for a family friend’s b-day.
The majority of people were not drinking alcohol at these social events, and the non-alcohol options were high quality.
As I’ve repeated a few times on here, times have changed: alcohol consumption has fallen off a cliff in my family and friend circles in recent years - and that is for the better, for me.
The power of example and showing the way! Nice. Happy for you and your close circle.
AF 36 days here, Monday evening and going soon to sleep. I hope that it has been a nice and fresh start of the week for everybody here
Day 1205
Having a good day actually. Started out slow but managed to get to the gym for a leg workout. Did some light grocery shopping and then grabbed a high protein smoothie for lunch. Doing some cleaning now while listening to music! Just waiting for my son to come home from school. Feeling good and alot more energetic now. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good start to their week!
Day 1975 from alcohol, 51 hours from PMO.
ODAAT
Are they paying you off cause you know some-some they dont want you to know ?
you deserve all the dolla dolla bills.
Thank you so much Jasmine, you are always so supportive and kind!
Checking in on day 678. I had a restful day after a busy weekend, grateful for being okay with being easy on myself when I need it and learning when to slow down.
@EFountains congratulations on joining the comma club…i hope to see you there soon
@JazzyS sorry you’re having a bad pain day Jasmine, I really hope it starts to ease soon
106 days sober ; life is full. I have no desire to drink alcohol
Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
Still sober and still moving forward.
Going to go for a nice evening stroll and then it’s homework with the kids.
Hope you are keeping well!
Welcome to Talking Sober!
Checking in on day 178
It’s the mondayest of mondays but it could be worse than short staffing at a stable job. I enjoyed my weekend very much (family time yesterday wasn’t too bad) and I’m looking forward to my working interview this week. I enrolled in a mindfulness and meditation course and the first lesson was just released- really excited to learn to meditate and integrate mindfulness into my recovery more effectively. ODAAT friends.
When I quit, part of my plan was to stay home for the first week. I did what was needed to facilitate that. Then journaling everyday, sometimes several times a day. I read my journal, which was really just documentation of what I’ve gone through so far. That helped me get through the first several days. Maybe something like that can help?
Jasmine I hope it eases up soon!
