Been about a week since last check in. Been a good week, busy. Didn’t really have any days off work as i was training on a course.
One more night shift tonight and then I’m on leave. 2 more days till I’m off to Bali with the family. Will be the first fully sober overseas holiday. No anxiety around it, genuinely looking forward to sober days spent with the wife and kids.
Currently our mornings at home have been 2-3°c so 25-30°c will be a nice break

Day 220

Good evening. It’s been a few days since I’ve checked in. My IPhone can F.R.O. !!! I have been square dancing with Verizon for 3 days trying to get resolution on a faulty product. Not going to go into details … let’s just say it’s been awhile since I’ve been so frustrated. The Serenity Prayer is my go to :folded_hands:. When my phone decided to hold a weak charge I read as many posts as I could. I can relate it to range anxiety with electric vehicles. :weary_face:My phone has been dead or at 1-5 % for days. I HATE my dependence on technology. I missed TS more than I knew I would. I congratulate everybody’s achieved milestones and pray for the sick and suffering. Never once did I contemplate drinking….. that’s a miracle for this drunkard. Welcome to all newcomers I may have missed. I missed you all and Im grateful for this phone now that I’m on this platform again !! Stay positively sober and ever vigilant.:tada::sun_with_face::folded_hands::+1::flexed_biceps:

Day 1668

Between learning how to fly fish (got pretty solid at it) God and taking my kid on adventures and watching his learnings.

Ive been getting more and more into cars, understanding how they work, how to fix them.

Its calming, its something that seems like it’ll stick.

One day a month ago, i just woke up and said, “I’m sick of not understanding how cars work,” and the rest, well, I started asking questions and meeting people and youtube.

Its been a cool ride.

Point is, without sobriety non of this would of been possible. Fuck all if i could want to do anything except drink and BS, and give just enough care to show up to work for 8 hours.

Day 8 Alcohol free.

Yesterday wasn’t the greatest. Mostly stayed inside other than a market run for food. Still alright. Today I walked 6+ kms specifically to go to a restaraunt for a green beef curry. But it was closed! Haha. At least I got the exercise in, defeated I took a taxi back and now im ordering pork noodles in a gravy sauce, as well as vegetable noodles in soy sauce. Feeling good other than the fact that im starving after walking 6kms with no food yet :face_holding_back_tears::sweat_smile: Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day/night :folded_hands:

33 C. But in packed and stifling London with no air conditioning. Car fumes, lots of people, crazy building heat.

I feel you, its the same here in Bangkok. I have AC but its 34 feels like 41 on the weather app. Is AC not normal in London?

@Seb You’ll be in my thoughts  Stay grounded in the present, so not to worry over things unknown :folded_hands: Take it one day at a time, friend :people_hugging:

@Lasse The alcohol/food topic is an ongoing one that differs from person to person. Some choose zero tolerance, while others are a bit more lax. Food and alcohol weren’t related for me. When I drank, I didn’t eat :woman_shrugging: I also didn’t reset when I grabbed a coworkers cup thinking it was my water and swallowed a mouthful of cider, bc I didn’t choose to drink alcohol. It was an accident and gross :squinting_face_with_tongue: I think resets should be based on intention. But of course, it’s your decision :folded_hands:

Thanks girl :hugs: I know you all got my back  Just haven’t had much time, which is all I want/need right now.

Well, long story short, my dad’s been in the hospital the past few days. He’d had some backpain and stayed in bed for days straight, then dizziness and weakness caused a fall that put him there. Lots going on I guess. Still trying to figure some out. He’s doing better than he was, but the stress of it really hit me hard today. I’ll elaborate more when I’m not so exhausted  Gotta wake up for this stupid work meeting to basically tell everyone they suck bc the old boss tried to fix something that worked perfectly and broke it miserablely :face_with_steam_from_nose: Now they’ve gotta be retained to learn the old, right way, we did things. Hope we can reverse the damage :folded_hands: Needs to happen. I just want to sleep all day

No chance. Only some shops and some gyms. Most houses and flats just swelter and put up with it.

Stay cool.

Ain’t that the truth! I’ve been to 45 degrees Morocco and 35 degrees Miami/Florida and was oddly better in that heat than here. It’s oppressive.

Slept well enough. Came home late after game night yesterday. Had a lot of fun though. Sun is up, it’s going to be a hot day around 30°C.
Morning meeting was good. Got some stuff done, going to take care of some more around the flat. Pool time in the afternoon probably. Depending on the heat some rowing later.

A start of the summer picture today.

Peace and love always :lotus:

@NewEnglander1970 sorry about all the phone troubles. I know I can’t stand it when the site goes down for maintenance or upgrades. Not being able to connect is horrible for me. Grateful you maintained your sobriety and are back here with us :hugs:
@Just_Laura oh I’m so sorry that your dad’s been in hospital. Hope he recovers well and quickly :folded_hands:t4:. Seeing out parents I’ll or unwell is a huge stressor. For me I think they are invincible and then reality sinks in. Sending healing energy. Good luck with meeting and hopefully the damage is not ingrained - good luck in getting things back to the proper working routine
@Tragicfarinelli stay cool friend. Hopefully a cool day planned for you ..after that sweltering soon class of course
@BackpackerDude sorry you were having a difficult day yesterday. Week plus is awesome work. Early days can be filled with ups and downs. Keep yourself busy and practice self care. ODAAT :flexed_biceps:t4:
