Closing out day 25.
8.08pm

Am in bed.in cozy clothes all settled in for the night.

I went to the food markets today. I forgot on the weekend every man and his dog goes lol  way to many people, SLOWWWW walking people for my liking lol :joy: so I was in and out fast.

Dropped my C.V off at another place this afternoon. That’s two in person in 24 Hours, so fingers crossed.

Took the motorbike out for a ride this arvo late. Again, weekend drivers ughh so many people literally cannot drive it’s crazy lol. The amount of times I scream at the top of my lungs MOVEEEEEE :joy: to stupid drivers and idiots that just open there drivers side door wide open without looking to see if cars or bikes are coming. And when I scream because I literally miss hitting said idiot by a spilt second, they just stare at you like its my fault ughhh. I almost hit two people walking on the middle of the road I could see them a good 5 seconds away so I hit the brake and started screaming MOVEEE!!! because it’s peak hour weekend and there are cars behind me that are bigger than my bike , and of those cars are not paying attention, then I just end up a squashed Bloody pancake lol ! So these stupid humans have no sense at all they dont rush to run of the road they just turn and stare, F&$KING idiots I kid you not how do these people not know how to look left and right before Crossing a road, not even at the lights, and think there immortal ughhh ! I really do not like weekend people lmao

If I was not sober I would of gone absolutely mental at these idiots, road rage is no joke  lol its funny because I am the nicest sweetest kindest person, the second I’m on my Motor bike it like I’m possessed, dr jekly Mr Hyde vibes lol :joy:

Anyhoo, head is hitting pillow sober , so yay to that.

Hope y’all are having a wonderful sober weekend

Day 10, second check in

I wanted to check in post Pilates class as I feel good. The endorphins have kicked in and a lot of the niggling stress has started to ebb away. In a short time it has become a core part of my routine and I am grateful for it.

I had a feeling that I wanted to get down in words. Its hard to explain, I’ve talked to my partner about it and my therapist but its something I am still working through.

Since I have chosen to frame this as my recovery rather than clean days it feels like I have had a change in how I feel. I’m not sure what came first but inside I have this mental image of me walking forward. I have metaphorically turned my back on my addiction and it has made things a little easier. Last night I could easily have relapsed, but a combination of:

  1. That mental image

  2. Finding out about urge surfing

  3. Checking in here

All made it easier to stay on course. But its more than that it’s a certainty in the core of me that I know who I am, I know my worth and I no longer feel the need to explain everything to everyone.

I don’t know if any of that makes sense but it felt important to write out.

Welcome! Sounds familiar, it took 8 years for me to get sobriety to stick…and it’s so worth the effort. Glad to see you here!

Damn, again I took a nap which lasted almost 6 hrs. I gotta stop sleeping this much, because I’m wasting most of the day. Goddammit. Just ate, and soon I’ll go for a walk. Rest of the day I’ll just listen to music and read a book. Have a good one, sober peeps!

Day 26

Off to work i go. Talked with my old boss and see what happens. I weighed out the pros and cons about the current full time job and its not worth the extra $2 as its gone in gas and i have never ran out of gas with my last job. Yes there is work all the time at the current place but I want to be able to go to meetings and keep to my recovery. My old boss will allow me to do those things.

Hopefully only 4 hours of work and then home to reno my living room. Changing the floor to laminate in the living room. I have the best landlords.

Hope everyone has a great sober day

Day 257

Been an odd day for me I didn’t wake up until nearly 9. Usually I’m up around 6, I must have needed the sleep. It knocks me out of kilter that sort of break in routine. Did have a slight craving but by the time I’d cleaned the bathroom it had gone.

Mainly crafting and chores today planning to enjoy the Darts again tonight

Wishing everyone a good sober Saturday

I got the job offer yesterday! TS is on a roll with the new jobs @2JTravNZ @Tragicfarinelli . @apes2020 will be next! I start on August 24, so I will be able to drop my son off at the dorms in San Francisco the week before when I am in between jobs. I have to give notice on Monday.

Today I will do some consulting. Not very exciting but it needs to be done. I hope everyone has a happy and sober day today.

Happy Belated Birthday @Marieke .
