Checking in daily to maintain focus #88

HUGE congratulations and big hugs on reaching day 400, Col!

Them were the days. Very relatable.
I wanna go again mainly for my partner who’s never been. I’d do a volunteer job but she point blank refuses to do that.
We’ll just have to try again next year. Le sigh

Checking in on day 89 alcohol free

Hopped on a cruise ship today and immediately found a bottle of champagne in my mini fridge. Yeesh. It’s everywhere. That’s okay, I’m feeling strong in my sobriety and I may ask them to take it away. I’m grateful to be sober in a place where drinking is everywhere. I’m going to put my head down still sober tonight. I hope everyone is having a peaceful day today.

2205 - one more night shift and then on holiday, can’t wait, applied for another job as since I had 2 weeks off with trauma from finding someone burning alive in bed my regional manager wants to have a meeting about too much time off, well after 25 years fuck em. Since making the decision to make a change over 6 years ago to get sober and every decision since only making life better this should be the next right move, doubts yes, worries yes, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN, definitely and if it turns out to be the wrong decision well I’ll just make another one until I get it right.

I’m having a really hard day. I’m so depressed, anxious and sad. I have zero energy to go outside to train and that just makes me feeling more lousy. I’ve been sleeping most of the day and now I’m gonna try to read something. Oh well, gotta just hope tomorrow is a better day. I absolutely hate my mental health problems. Much love!

Heyy goodmorning

I have days like that too. Sometimes rest is actually what we need most. Stay connected to the earth around you. No secrets from me. Nothing going on here. Avoid caffeine and drink cold cold water.

Day 3 alcohol free

I forgot that we’re in 100 degree days here and gas is $$$. So, I did not go to the Zuma beach meeting this morning. It was best to get physical work done early this morning whilst it wasn’t so hot. I tried to go to my storage this morning to get some autumnal stuff, but I couldn’t get the lock slide to move and the office is closed on Sundays. I can’t believe today marks 8 months here at my mom’s.

Resisting the urge to tear myself down inside for being in this situation. I miss my belongings and my home. So weird without it, but I’ll be just fine because stuff doesn’t really matter. It’s not my driving force like it has been for so many years. My sobriety is not contingent on my belongings but rather community.

Checking in on day 34! Up early this morning I went out and played with my men’s league team. Had a good day, went 1 for 3 with a walk and a double for all you baseball aficionados out there. No defensive errors either. The best part is I was sober and not hungover and made it through the day surrounded by guys drinking and vaping weed around me. I was proud I honored myself and the game by being at my best. I always took a lot of pride as a player to honor the game and for the last two years I haven’t done that to the best of my ability.

Headed home to bathe the dog and relax maybe get some cardio or a lift in I’m really getting addicted to fitness and shaping my body. People have been commenting how strong I’m looking which is nice!

Started watching Halloween movies last night, getting into the spooky :ghost: season.

I’m really just thankful to be alive and healthy and living useful days to the people in my life because I’m not drunk. Love everyone happy sober Sunday

Day 1694 clean and sober
Day 22 free from compulsive eating behaviors

Afternoon :sunflower: Im half way through my shift at work, waiting for my client to return to the home. Its been a quiet morning, which was good bcuz then I was able to get the monthly summary done for my team lead. I am looking forward to going home though. Its just felt like a looong weekend.

Sobriety wise, things are good! My recovery from compulsive eating behaviors is going alright too BUT i am not eating the healthiest. So that has to change. I am trying to work towards a healthy body weight and eating a donut for breakfast isnt the most nutritious lol But thankfully, I am not eating my emotions or binge eating or eating out of boredom, fatigue, etc.

I am nervous for this week coming (my sons procedure). Im nervous for all the potential changes that will happen bcuz of it. Excited too of course, but right now the nervousness is taking over just a little bit more. This week will be about taking it one day at a time. Even one hour or minute at a time. I will HAVE to stay closely connected to my HP.

Hope everyones weekend was a positive one! Lets keep moving forward!!

2nd check-in

My shitty day turned out to be better after all. I’ve been reading a good and inspiring Christian book about prayer. I have also noticed how important it is for me to stay away from social media because people in there are so shallow and selfish by being so perfect and full of sunshine and fake happiness without telling their struggles and character flaws. No thanks. I love this forum because of peoples honesty and transparency, so thank you guys, I absolutely love you all!

Day 2 sober. Im in physical recovery atm and even if i think weed may help, its inconsistent with the approach to recovering well.

Woke up thinking today was Monday. I felt bad for waking people up. But I went out for coffee and breakfast with a friend this morning. Currently doing my laundry as I spend some time with my stepmom. I really want to move out of state, there’s like nothing left for me here. It would be nice.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to reality and IOP for me tomorrow.:people_hugging::light_blue_heart:

Coffee helps me in endless ways. I’m glad you are feeling better. One day a time for sure. Thanks for sharing times when you’re down and out and not just good times. My progress feels slow coming, but thanks. I needed to hear that today.
