I’m on day four of no alcohol. I thought last night was rough but this evening has been proven to be the worst. What the hell am I supposed to do to entertain myself? I’ve been cleaning for a few hours and the craving keeps coming back. Does anyone have any food/drink recommendations that will keep me sober but help with my cravings. I drank some pickle juice yesterday and it kind of helped…but I need something else.
@Oliverjava Thank you so much! I’m lactose intolerant…but I can get non lactose ice cream! I never heard anything about pickle juice either…just tried it an it helped for a bit lol
I really thought about resetting and starting on Monday so thanks for saying that. I appreciate it!
Have a great weekend!
@Oliverjava Thanks for the advice on things to do. We got a puppy a few weeks back so I will make sure that I’m taking her for walks every evening. That’s when it’s the hardest the weekends and the evenings. The cravings would always hit and last work around 3pm, but I always calmed down because I knew that I could have a drink at six. I will just get home and immediately walk her. Thanks again!
Have you ever tried lime and seltzer water? That is my go to during any of my cravings
@CMethSlammer Thanks! I will have to get some of that. That actually sounds really good and the bubbly will make me think of beer. Thanks for the advice!
Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I’m on day 6 and I wake up every morning with a burning desire to drink. I just keep pushing through reminding myself its not going to be eaasy but according to AA God will remove the desire to drink when he sees fit…and that’s an incredible feeling.
Stay strong
@Ash Hey I hear you. Last few days has been very hard for me but i just try to keep focused with lots of distractions. Keep strong you are doing all the right things. You will get there… shine shine
@BrandiK Thanks. The weekend went well for me, hoping yours did as well. The cravings are getting a lot easier to deal with. Thankfully I find myself here whenever I find myself thinking of slamming or findong a vein near the surface. I hope that you are doing well too.
@CMethSlammer Thanks, I have been doing good. Today is day seven and it seems to be getting easier. The cravings are less frequent just hard to deal with everyday annoyances when I’m used to drinking it away.
@BrandiK I hear you on that one. I have been fortunate to be living with my parents during this first month, and having rehab for the 2nd month. However just going out to lunch with a friend from high school last week, I was tempted by him with Meth and he knew I was in recovery. It has popped up quite a few times in the last 3 weeks. My own cravings are getting less intense and less frequent thankfully. Side note: No longer friends with him.
@CMethSlammer That is tough having a lose a friend but you made the right choice. Hopefully your friend will make the same choice as you and give up meth. Good job staying strong and making the right choice!
