Crocheters, Knitters, Crafters, and the like 2020 to present

You can. It will be very different from t shirt yarn. Let us know how it goes.

It’s about one third finished, but it’s already big enough to cover me.

This looks really interesting. I’ll have to try this loom knitting sooner or later.

I keep see loom knitting right now on pinterest, I looks like a good way to make socks or hats. My friend taught herself how to knit with her fingers and was fairly successful with that.

Adding a pocket to a pocket shawl i made for a woman in town who lost her adult son to suicide. I can’t hug her so this seemed like the next best thing.

What a heartbreaking story :frowning: Your gesture sure is beautiful and thoughtful :yellow_heart:

I love to knit. It saves my sanity on any given day. If you have never visited a yarn shop it’s a must! But beware you will become a yarn snob :slightly_smiling_face: and spend lots of money. Most had classes pre covid and I think some still do. The website knitpurlhunter.com has a knitting video for anything and knitpicks.com has both. Ravelry.com is a fiber arts community that has tons of patterns for anything and lots of other resources. Knitting or crocheting has been proven to be therapeutic and also mind stimulating. I find I meditate best when I’m knitting in a quiet room. And it keeps me from getting fidgety if I am sitting listening to a speaker or watching tv. If you couldn’t tell I’m pretty passionate about this

I’m partially sighted and TBH I didn’t expect this on a thread called crotchless, knickers and the like. Nevermind.

That’s so sweet of you. I definitely think handmade things count as hugs. It’s beautiful.

Ok, I’ve dug our some of my recent and not so recent knitted things and some WIPs. Some of my collection of scarves, shawls, and other cold weather garments (the multicolored striped scarf in the middle was knit during my last sober stint earlier this year, so I have dubbed it “recovery in training”), wool leg warmers, colorful cotton placemats I’m working on, and the infamous fuzzy blue sweater. I have the front half completed, it’s knitted holding two strands of Knit Picks yarn (also a favorite source of mine), one is Hawthorne fingering (80% superwash fine highland wool, 20% polyamide) the other is Aloft lace (72% super kid mohair, 28% silk). My luxury sweatshirt style sweater! If I get busy I can have it finished before the real cold arrives.
