Crocheters, Knitters, Crafters, and the like 2020 to present

Okay, cool!

Gorgeous pieces you’ve made!

Oh I love knitting socks at the moment. Am in between projects a bit though. I should knit these potholders with double knitting technique for Christmas presents. I guess I like knitting more than say crocheting or sewing at right now.

Sorry! I’m the worst at sewing.

Looking forward to a week of crochet bliss. I should finish this today after I go yarn shopping.

This is what I’ve been making instead of crocheting all summer. Just started my own business with these trees.

Those are pretty, and very intriguing. I’ve never seen anything like them. What are they made of? Wire… and beads?

Everyone is so talented! I’m here because, not having picked up a needle in the last 30 years–or even had a hobby, at that–, lately I’ve been getting these urges to DO something with my hands. Maybe it’s the lockdown, maybe it’s sobriety, maybe it’s the fact that my kid is older now and doesn’t require so much attention, maybe it’s the job security I finally have… For the first time in my life I’m feeling the need to immerse myself in a hand-making activity.

Can anyone relate? Any advice on what type of thing to try first? I mean, I don’t even have any proper supplies! I remember basic crochet chain, can probably remember basic knitting… :joy: As you see, I’m just like “What to do, what to do…” with itchy fingers. :upside_down_face:

Like, yesterday I got hit with the itch, got our heavy duty pliers, some wire, an end of yarn and crafted an itty Christmas tree ornament. It took all of fifteen minutes and was soooo satisfying, though really simple.

(I hope I’m doing the upload right)

We are wired to naturally want to use our hands to create. You should jump right in while you’re feeling this way.

These are amazing! They are far better than the ones in our “awakenings” store and I wanted to buy all of those.

Thank you! They are made out of wire and gemstone beads or glass beads. They are my therapy these days!

When I tried knitting the for the first time, I went to my local Goodwill and picked up some needles and they even had partial and full skeins of yarn there. Sometimes they even have some crafty kits there, thats where I usually pick up new things to try for a couple bucks.

That’s a perfect way to get your foot in the door!! Some of those fairy lights would look great wrapped around those!

Thank you so much! I started making these 4 or so years ago and they have definitely gotten better over the years! I quit my job this past January and have since decided to open a shop up to sell them. Its a very satisfying feeling.

Now that’s a thought… Only this one is kind of tiny for that. I’ll have to try with a bigger one. Thank you!

I have been working on a sweater for my SO since summer. All the pieces are done, now I just need to sew them together

They make some pretty small strings of them! I bet you could find some small enough! Or just double wrap them around?

Now you’re REALLY making me want to do this. I’ll keep you posted!
