Daily fitness check in 💪 (Part 1)

Thanks  Yeah I got my yearly checkup recently, everything seems to be within range and such. Turns out what I thought was gyno was just my fatness haha

Hope you’re doing well with your fitness and sobriety journey bro  Same with everyone else on this forum

We are jamming hard. Tomorrow is an off day. I generally dont go more than 4 days in a row.

Thesd past 4 days, my muscles came back to a degree.

Hitting 405 on the dead for 4 was interesting.

My previous post here got flagged and removed; I’m not sure why. I’m guessing it’s because I accidentally had a shirtless picture because I was at my dad’s pool, but I tried to just show my face and the pool. I didn’t really realize until after posting that, my bad.

My bad, I’m sorry for that yall. But yeah, I just did arm day today! All is going good so far, hope yall are doing well

Ur right on why ur post was removed. The fitness check in has the same rules as the sober selfies (shirts need to be visible). U werent aware. Accidents happen

Glad u got ur arm workout in tho. I cant wait to get back to the gym also! 3 weeks or so away!

Ah okay I see, thanks I’ll keep that in mind, I was confused because I thought that rule only applied to the selfies thread but now I know

Yee for sure! Hope ur fitness and sobriety journey is going well  I might have to slow down with gym a bit at least for arm workouts because getting that elbow pain again haha

My workout today consisted of a walk running errands. Pushing my 85lb son in his wheelchair got the heart rate up so I felt like it was some decent exercise.

3 weeks down until i can hit the gym on a regular basis

Worked shoulders hard today. Feel the strength building in them already as my reps and weight increased.

Proud of y’all for showing up for yourselves. It’s one of the most loving things we can do for our future selves!

Just did chest/back/shoulders

Soon, I’ll start needing an actual gym membership because the dumbbells in the condo gym only go up to 75lbs and usually the barbell is always being used (plus I don’t like normal barbell bench press because I can’t really safely go to failure without a spotter, from what I was taught in high-school weight training class anyway).

Once I’m ready to do 80lb dumbbells for flat bench dumbbell presses for about 8 reps or so in proper form with a slow enough lowering of the dumbbells, I’ll start looking into getting a gym membership somewhere or maybe just keep my very-hard-to-cancel fit4less membership.

For now, I’ll basically just keep using the 75 lb dumbbells for that and just go slower with them

Progress photo from yesterday  I couldn’t get one with nice lighting today because there were people at the spot I usually take pics at after a workout, and I didn’t wanna disturb them and such

It was a hard mental battle but I remained focused and got to the gym. Days where I’m mentally fried are SO hard. I can always push past physical exhaustion but mental exhaustion is a different animal. And I hate that I have to greet all my gym friends with a smile when all I want to do is cry. :sob:

ANYWAYS, strength today was banded sumo deadlifts then nordic curls. The workout after was a 12 min. AMRAP of 5 deadlifts @105# and 100 jump rope.

My one gym friend came back from Hawaii. And he left a little souvenir magnet in my cubbie! :face_holding_back_tears:

I came back home. Then cried for a bit.

Pending the weight ratio and reps your doing. Couldn’t you just, fail, roll the bar down to your pelvis, sit up, then just roll it off your leg and put it down?

I’m only on thw suggestion because if youre going to failure, and the numbers you talked about where less than 200.

Idk, ive dumped 335 before. I thought i could do 3, only did two. Thats not a fun time.

Maybe this isn’t safe.

Oh, you could bench, then go to almost failure then do push ups. So lets say you do 15 reps at 135, and then just do burn outs with push ups?

Yeahh thats an idea.

Girl I totally get that mental exhaustion and how hard it is to push past it – you are a rockstar :muscle: Glad you went and kicked ass and were able to release some tears when you came home. I find that a good cry helps immensely. I am lucky enough to be able to do so while swimming where noone can see

Thank you, Jasmine. :face_holding_back_tears: I’m a big cry baby so I’m always up for a good cry. :joy: Sorry that you get sad and cry, too.

I’m back at 6500 Steps a day regularly. Early morning walk to the train station instead of taking the bus. And after work walking the same way back home. When this hot weather is over I’m aiming at 6-8km walking every day, I already got me some really good shoes that support my feet wonderfully.
I still have a slight muscle ache so no body weight workout today yet. This time I’ll listen to my chronically ill but lovely body.
Also my sleeping schedule is part of this new routine. I’ll go to bed and get out of it at the same time like I do from Monday - Friday. All of this will only work with a good sleep
Have a great strong day fam

I also had a good cry Saturday while doing pushups, we got this girl  Let the tears flow, it helps regulate your nervous system

These are good points; if the barbell is ever free I’ll try this actually ty

I guess they taught it differently in high-school weight training class probably because everyone was at beginner level back then, but I’ll try what you’re saying for sure

And yeah true, I’m not particularly strong for my size since I don’t really train that much for strength, so the weights aren’t like super heavy so it should be safe to do what you’re saying

Just did legs yessir

@MTSober ever since you mentioned that leg workouts increase your testosterone the most out of other body parts, I actually feel more motivated to train legs nowadays haha ty
