I’m grateful for the early morning, the sun not quite up yet, the quiet, my coffee.

I’m grateful for the last few days I just had and the chance to see some things a different way.

I’m grateful it’s never too late.

I’m grateful to be sober, and for all the good things going on in my world that I can do and enjoy and explore and learn and take in (even in a pandemic!) now that I’m sober.

I’m grateful for all the support I have to be sober, and all of you Gratidudes who share this practice.

M and D? It goes by quick! For every day.

I’m grateful for another day. :orange_heart:

Today I am grateful for another chance. In so many areas, I have been given more chances than I deserve.
I’m grateful for a goofy sponsor that is so incredibly versed in the 12-steps. That relationship is growing despite my numerous excuses to chuck it in the bin like I did with everything else. I have learned so much about the facets of recovery that I didn’t consider just a few weeks ago.
I am thankful for the brief taste of spring we had yesterday.
I’m grateful to be present more and more each day and the heightened intuition that brings.
I’m grateful for the lessons of abstinence.
I’m thankful for the daily reprieve from my insanity.
I’m grateful to be closer to happy, joyous, and free than I have ever been before.

Gratitude is the best medicine.
It heals your mind,
Your body,
And your spirit
And attracts more things to be grateful for.

I’m grateful my body is still functioning OK despite how badly I have treated it so many times.

I’m grateful I can go out on a sunny springday-in-wintertime and ride my bicycle for 110km at a good pace and feel great during and afterwards.

I’m grateful a hare did a sprinting match with me in the polder, a match I lost.

I’m grateful I can take a long hot shower after said bicycle ride.

I’m grateful I don’t drink or smoke or put any addictive substance by any means in my system.

I’m very grateful to all of you, my friends, who make TS what it is, a safe haven for me and so many others.

Today I am grateful for reflecting on my hidden shames, how feeling inadequate can bring forward my defenses and how I can work on embracing the depths of my own vulnerabilities and love myself and others.

“I think It’s a mistake to ever look for hope outside of oneself. One day the house smells of fresh bread, the next of smoke and blood. One day you faint because the gardener cuts off his finger, within a week you’re climbing over corpses of children bombed in a subway. What hope can there be if that is so? I tried to die near the end of the war. The same dream returned each night until I dared not to go to sleep and grew quite ill. I dreamed I had a child, and even in the dream I saw it was my life, and it was an idiot, and I ran away. But it always crept onto my lap again, clutched at my clothes. Until I thought, if I could kiss it, whatever in it was my own, perhaps I could sleep. And I bent to its broken face, and it was horrible… But I kissed it. I think one must finally take ones life in one’s arms.”
