Daily Gratitude, The Air Of Recovery #8 🪷

Today I’m grateful for:

  1. My best friend
  2. A job where i can make a difference
  3. Early days off of work
  4. My fiddle leaf fig tree
  5. Clean water
  6. 145 days sober
  7. Cool house and a warm bed to sleep in
  8. My puppy
  9. My best friend
  10. Pretzels

Today felt like a stretch. I always try to leave 10 items on here. Maybe that reflects my frame of mind right now- I probably need to practice gratitude more. Have a grateful, sober day everyone.

Thursday gratitude.

Today I’m grateful I cut my fingernails yesterday, it’s so much easier to type. I’m grateful I’m still surprised that my nails grow long since the constant nervous tension and daily struggle overwhelming feelings left my body about 2 years ago. I’m grateful all this lies way behind me.

I’m grateful it’s a holiday here. Not that this would mean anything regarding farmwork but I decided to take it easy today. I’m grateful I had tea on the balcony, pizza for brunch (still giggling about this weird taste craving) and I’m now on the couch with purring Missi on my legs. I’m grateful the dog’s social behaviour improves, slowly. Grateful for another opportunity to train with a neighbour & dog this morning. I’m tired, it was straining, the dog snorres so I guess he is also tired & done.

I’m grateful I was able to mount the mower, mowing with the tractor is more fun than trimming. Oh I hope the cut grass will reduce ticks, I’m so fed up with the constant looking for ticks on the dog and myself. Fucking pests.

I’m grateful for friends gifting me with veggie seedlings, food and good talks. Grateful for friends.

I’m grateful the new washer/dryer makes washing the big sofa cover sheets a lot easier. Washed them yesterday, can put them on again today.

I’m grateful I do my best and set boundaries where I reach my limits. I’m grateful I get better in listening to my limits and inner boundaries. I’m grateful I’m aware to take better care of myself as temperatures get hot. I’m grateful I find a good balance between work and rest on most days. I’m grateful I’m patient with myself, it’s not easy. Progress over perfection.

I’m grateful writing down all this is relaxing, I feel a nap approaching. ODAAT :folded_hands:

Good morning sober warriors.

Im greatful i am free of my obsession to escape life with drugs and alcohol and today ive been sober for 3 whole fricken years. 0-3. Im working on my 4th year as of today. Thats wild.

Im greatful for aa. And the stupid sayings which have saved me more than i can count.

Im greatful for quality time as a family

Im greatful i finally woke up early again did upper body weights for 30min and walked for 30min.

Im greatful im trying to be a good patient and listen to my physical therapist. Today i will do my pt exercises 2x. Tomorrow i will start a walk jog and see how i feel

Im greatful i have people i can relate to in aa and here in the ts community. What an amazing free support

Im greatful for art and nature and beauty and energy

Im greatful the scared, hollow shell of a woman had, had enough and surrendered to a solution that had helped others live a strong sober life. The blind faith it took to surrender and give my all to breaking a 20yr habit. Woooheee

Its a miracle any day an addict can persevere and remain sober.

Its possible! I never thought id be here but i did it one day at a time. We can recover. Find a support system, dedicate as much time as you did using to your recovery, seek therapy, be patient, reach out BEFORE giving in to a craving!
