Daily Gratitude, The Air Of Recovery #9

Gratitude is what feels the soul. I started getting into negative thinking and became self-conscious of sharing.

I’m grateful for my effort. I wake up everyday and do my best. That can vary day to day, my accomplishments may not be the same. That’s okay.

I’m grateful that I wake up with a can do attitude. My life is far from perfect, and perfect does not exist. Progress not perfection.

I’ve got to get to a meeting but wanted to participate today, I will be a player in my recovery and I thank you all for being on my team.

Today I’m grateful for:

A job to do that feels good for my community and also supports me financially. I need to earn the role I’m trying to fill by sticking to it and staying clean.

Keeping my mind, eyes and ears open for what I might be called to do. And learning to let go of my selfish desires.

Getting through the new normal of the holidays as a split household. And for talking myself through them with a mostly constructive inner dialogue.

Having my gym to go to. In this little town it’s an amazing amenity to have.

Finding some steadiness in sobriety. Real unadulterated sobriety. Not Cali sober, not justified exceptions. And being able to take it one day at a time. I’m not gonna sort out 25+ yrs of addictive behavior all at once.

Slowly building some confidence and having a voice inside that has the strength (most days) to drown out the negativity so that I find a way to take the next step rather than give up trying.

I’m grateful for all the housecleaning I got done yesterday.
I’m grateful I got everything cleaned up a head of my house cleaners, including all my Christmas stuff so they could do a real good clean following me. The house was a disaster after a 3 toddler Christmas.
I’m grateful I was too tired to put up the tree and it looks good in the corner with no other Christmas decorations.
I’m grateful I’ll get to it when I can.
I’m grateful for ice as I over did it and the back was screaming. I’m grateful the ice shut that down rather quickly.
I’m grateful my wrist doesn’t hurt today from all the over doing yesterday.

I’m grateful for sunshine.
I’m grateful for YouTube.
I’m grateful I googled how to charge my Samsung remote. It’s solar! Who knew? I’m grateful I remembered to put it in the sun this morning and hope it works.

I’m grateful I’m turning into one of those goofy people walking around with their 40 ounce insulated water thingy with a straw :winking_face_with_tongue: I’m grateful I’m drinking more water baby!!

I’m grateful I’m going to my al-anon meeting. Really don’t want to go. Not feeling the connection but I know I need my ass in a seat. I’m grateful there will be a seat for me there.

I’m grateful again for a nice clean house.

missed that post….. Glad it sounds you made it through and healing… It is so muddy around here you should see how I take tiny steps in yard so as not to fall…. It is true with age I have to be more aware of every movement…. A body in motion.. is a must to maintain health in seniorism. Just no slipping, sliding and falling….

So grateful today. I had $650 cash to make a loan payment but used some for groceries. Bj paid her rent and wanted to contribute to my grocery bill as she eats with us. . I can make my payment. Big job for hubby should come through in the next week. I am overwhelmed with tasks todo but taking it 1 step at a time. I committed myself to pool class tonight and want to stay true to that. 681 days sober. Wow! I have been working again steps 1-3 in my head recently will try to journal some to move on to Step 4. I could never achieve living as I do now drunk.
