For a few years, my alarm tone was “Circle of Life” from Lion King, at the maximum volume possible. Scaring myself out of bed every morning. Nice warm, peaceful, dark bedroom…snoozing away quietly…and then…

and this is probably why I now automatically wake up at 4 with no alarm, no problem.

Hahahaha I’ve thought about this but love that you actually did it. I wake up to the weather station these days. Human and unpredictable sounding enough that I don’t learn to tune it out, but still really formulaic and repetitive so I can’t stand listening to it for more than a minute or so.

“—cast for the XYZ region: For Saturday, August 31. High, 28. Low, 14. Chance of showers. For Sunday, September 1. High, 27. Low, 14. Chance of a thunderstorm, chance of showers. For Monday, September 2…”

But the reception is terrible (station isn’t even listed for my area, that I can find) and hardly intelligible, and spends half the time in French which I can usually understand but not at that quality. It’s not going to be interesting either because it’s several minutes of annoyance if I really want to cycle through all the regions’ forecasts back to my area.

Imagine if The Lion Sleeps Tonight played every time you got ready for bed. My dad randomly said “Aweemowep aweemowep” into a family chat and it immediately got stuck in everyone’s head.
