Iā€™ve never heard of it, not surprising but I had to search for it. Itā€™s not surprising that you would be reminded of that poem. Watching the movie made me think of Iron Maidenā€™s song, Paschendale. I feel bad for those young men bogged down in the mud, fighting for their lives.

Yes, it is quite vivid imagery isnā€™t it. The poem?
To be honest when ever ww1 is mentioned anywhere, I instantly see the cart rolling through the mud with bodies on it and zombie like figures stumbling behind.
You can see how it touched me!
