Dark Chocolate (TW: Food)

I thought it might be fun to have a place to talk about our favorite dark chocolates (70% and darker), share new finds, show pictures, talk about different food pairings, etc.

I know there is a general “favorite chocolate” thread, but I felt like this was different enough to warrent a different thread.

This is my go to for dark chocolate though I do usually get the 90% but they were out when I went shopping today. I usually eat 2 squares a night after dinner

@CanadianGirl I really like the 90% Lindt bar too.

@EarnIt I’ve never heard of bettergoods before. Let us know how you like it once you have a chance to sample it!

Bettergoods is relatively new. It’s a Walmart brand. They carry much in gluten-free, vegetarian, “healthy” yadda yadda. I will let you know.

And for both of you, I used to sell Lindt and get it free ALL the time. I miss that!

Lindt is not my favourite compared with others we have here. The 100% taste a bit like dust. :see_no_evil_monkey:

I like those ATM

My most recent find that I’m loving. It has a strong bitter note with something acidic. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the taste at first, but it quickly grew on me. The mouth feel is great, especially for a 100%. I tend to let them melt in my mouth rather than chew and this one has an excellent melty mouth feel. It melts more easily in the mouth than many other 100% bars. The flavor also lingers for a while after its gone, which is nice.

I agree with you on Lindt’s 100% bar. It feels very sterile, which is a shame, as I do like their 90% quite a bit.

I think I had this when I was in France.

I’m with @CanadianGirl and often buy the Lindt 85-90%. Kiddo likes the 70% so I’m happy he’ll eat that.

I also get these pure cacao nibs. Great antioxidant and fibre. No sugar. I eat plain or add to overnights oats with flax, chia, nuts and protein milk.

That’s nice that your kiddo will eat 70%. Most of the kids and teens I know won’t eat anything past milk chocolate.

One of these I get often. I appreciate the mission and value. The Moser Roths are 70% but with mousse don’t taste quite dark.

Wow both of those look amazing. I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on them to try sometime.

Ive never heard of this brand. Where are they sold and are they expensive?

Aldi. And all are about $3.50ish

Moser is definitely an Aldi thing.

Hm. I’ve heard of this store before, but we don’t have them here. I’ll have to look online.
