Hi @Crazy and welcome :waving_hand: :innocent:

Self harm is not something I grapple with personally but there are many here on Talking Sober who do. If you search “self harm”, “SH”, or similar terms in the search bar (tap the magnifying glass icon), you will find many threads - I’ve got that search queued up for you here, just click:

https://talkingsober.com/search?q=self%20harm

Don’t give up. It is possible.

I think self harm comes in many forms. Physical self harm isn’t any different than those of us who have chosen alcohol, drugs, sex, any of it. It’s all self harm, it’s all for similar reasons in a way.
I think one of the best videos I came across for helping with self harm, highlighted hurting our child self. Would you do this to the child version of you, would you hurt that child, because that’s what you’re doing. Like alcohol, drugs, sex, it’s coping mechanism it’s something that we found worked, regardless of the harm it causes us.
Allows us to not deal with, move past, the reasons, trauma, what have you, behind it.
I’ll be honest here. I tried self harm, in the sense you’re talking about. Realized pain wasn’t for me. But I saw that video years ago, and it resonated for so many reasons, even though that wasn’t my go to form of self harm.
Idk if this will help, at all, idk if that video still exists. It was on YouTube.

Its ok to feel sad. Its ok to feel emotions. Try to work thru them and not numb them. Its exhausting i know. Sleep thru the intrusive thoughts if need be. The more days you get bw you and sh the easier it will be.

I really hope so and thank you😊
