Days sober - 19

19 days sober!!

Iv been sober for a couple of weeks and right now I am craving.
Any tips on how to try and stop thinking about it?

Do something to take your mind off it. It will definitely pass. Go for a walk, exercise, throw on a recovery podcast ((there’s alot of free ones on Spotify app). I usually just tough through them that way. You’ll be glad you did

Keep yourself busy! Go for a walk, bingewatch Netflix, get your house clean, whatever!
Every craving will pass eventually.

It helps me to engage in a healthy habit- some exercise, a walk, even making a healthy meal, reading… something to remind yourself that you want to care and nurture your mind and body.

Also remembering that while it feels intense, it is only a feeling and a thought… like all thoughts and feelings, it will pass. I’ve used the “leaves on a stream” meditation (it can be found on YouTube) to help visualize this.
