Insomnia is a frequent side effect quitting drinking, and it comes up often in various threads. I purchased several meditations for various purposes from a reputable source recommended by my daughter who is a certified yoga instructor and life coach, and I am finding the deep sleep meditation to be super helpful. I open the .MP3 on my phone and listen when I climb into bed, or if I wake up in the middle of the night.
For those new to meditation, this is really a physical one meant to help you relax, and you just need to crawl into bed and follow instructions in the recording. Keep an open mind and give it a try if you feel you need help falling asleep:
I always wanted to learn how to meditate. Will meditation really help with me not sleeping because not sleeping is really getting to me and makes me irritable and cranky throughout the day . I’m always so tired but when it comes time for bed I lay down and I’m wide awake.
