No worries I’m good. I just hope the miss understanding, if in fact there is one, and I really think there is, can be cleared up and wondering how it can be cleared up over here in void rail yard.
Have a good one
Yes, that is indeed exactly what I meant. The actual context of the quote. And it was in reference to ts in general… I think i was misunderstood and my post was not read in the right context and perceived incorrectly. Thank @anon79808082 @Dazercat that is all. Back to what we do best, being nice
This is awful to see I didnt know what the thread was about so clicked on it. Wud rather I didnt tho, such beautiful creatures to see them dead like that is so sad
Hey hunting people. I am writing a book and one of the chapters is where this kid tries to hunt a Saber-tooth tiger with a spear. Looking for some inspiration and insight. What would be the best way to kill such a beast? Thanks in advance.
They are moved because they are not on topic to the purpose of the thread, which is that it is for hunting enthusiasts to connect and share with each other. It is not for debating hunting, which is a legal and common activity in some parts of the world.
and yummy! I don’t actually hunt myself, but I have enough friends who do that I get fresh venison every year.
I have a feeling hunting is fairly prevalent in your area?
It is in mine. Hunting is a big deal. From archery, to black powder, to rifle season. There are multiple animals to hunt here. Elk, deer, moose, bison, bear, mountain goat, antelope, mountain lion, turkey, pheasant, ducks, geese…
Not to mention sometimes of vital importance to the overall ecosystem and health of the animals. If people haven’t seen photos of sick and starving deer because of overpopulation, that’s one of the things that can change minds about the value of hunters.
I’m going to assume, probably accurate, though I’ve never hunted a cat with a spear, that it would be very similar to hunting with a bow.
You need to study your prey. Know where the kill zone is located. That way you ensure a clean, quick, kill on the animal. A quick online search shows that the vital area, just like on a lot of big game animals, is right behind the front shoulder.
You would need speed and sharpness to penetrate the area. Plus, Good luck not hitting a rib bone.
Yes, it’s a huge part of the culture here and an important food source for many families. And we are currently in season for deer, moose, turkey, duck, etc.
I am not a fan of hunting but in the UK it is not at all normal (nor is gun ownership). An interesting cultural thing here, hunting is the preserve of the upper classes and that’s mainly because so much land is in private ownership. It is usually associated with blood sport (particularly fox hunting, despite it being illegal it carries on, which plays into the class issue: one rule for them another for the rest of us). Game hunting and hunting for land management does happen, but again on private estates.
Personally I think hunting for meat (done sustainably) is probably much more ethical and environmentally friendly than the majority of farming. And given most meat in the UK is sold as a result of factory farming, I am a vegetarian!
Don’t think there is anything wrong with us exchanging views on the issue, it is perfectly possible to be agreeable even when we disagree
IMO…sustenance hunting is ok. hunting to manage populations is what it is.
rich assholes flying to other countries to get their picture taken with dead elephants and tigers should be sterilized.
I agree. And posting photos with there kills is just wrong. No one wants to see that kind of evil and cruelty.
We have fox hunting they’ve stop the dogs chasing the foxes down until the can’t run no more and a pack of 30/40 dogs rip the poor fox apart, that’s all upper class posh wankers, that feel that a sport where they allow foxes to be devoured by there hounds, I k ow it’s not on the same scale but I dispise hunters with a passion
Nothing against anyone whether they’re born into riches or poverty, people are people wherever they come from. But I will never understand the appeal of fox hunting.
We get the hunt going through this area occasionally. As well as the cruelty (and illegality) of the fox hunting, they trespass on land and destroy property. It seems unfair that they don’t seem to get into any trouble for it.
They don’t get into any trouble BC as far as times goes bk the colour of ya money really does stand for something
MONEY TALKS.

Well now I’m just hungry
I hunt to feed my family. I also raise beef, which my son sells. It teaches him hard work, dedication, and budgeting. I normally don’t shoot the trophy bull elk. I settle for a cow elk instead, better meat.
As far as those rich guys flying all over the world, while I don’t understand shooting an Elephant or giraffe, the money they spend goes straight to the conservation of those animals. It’s it worse to have some rich guy spend upwards of $50k to hunt an animal that a poacher would shoot for free? The meat feeds the village, the money goes to conservation.
