Echos of Then, Sounds of Now

That AM Album is really awesome.. There was a couple months back I was listening to this album every day at work. There’s only one other Arctic Monkeys album I know about.. I need to explore there music more.. Feels like the AM album came out yesterday!!!

There was a chapter in my life where I was listening to The Arctic Monkeys , Kings Of Leon, and The Black Keys .. and really nothing else as far as rock music

Have you listened to the album Because Of The Times by Kings Of Leon? Came out in 2007 I think… Thats a recent album I have been going back to.

The fact that it’s 13 years old blows me away!!

No, but I will give it a listen :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Amazing! I’d love to invest in some vinyls! Maybe my top 5 and put them on the wall :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Today I’m swapping old and new based on the amazing play with album artwork girl in red did over a span of 4 years.

The song “we fell in love in october” is an up beat, fun, and to me a happy song about falling in love. I heard this one years ago but didn’t investigate. I’m glad I did.

Following it up some years later with this album artwork for “October Passed Me By” which has a much more melancholic sound as well as lyrically. Big fan of the use of negative space, glad to have found this one.

I’ve heard some of Shiny Toy Guns, but I’ll have to do some digging into the rest! :slightly_smiling_face:

@bluekoolaid_88 I really enjoyed “Black Thumbnail” and “True Love Way”, definitely a solid Kings of Leon sound!

Thanks for the recommendation, I hadn’t heard anything prior to their Only By The Night album! I really like “Sex on Fire” from that album, cliche I know but I do!

Thanks for all the great suggestions!!

I really enjoyed “Call Me” by SHY FX feat Maverick Sabre from his Raggamuffin SoundTape! I like the fast paced beat over the slow lyrics!

As for Chase & Status I immediately liked the single “BACKBONE” feat Stormzy! This one goes hard, the wubz are strong with this one!

I really enjoyed the song “Lost Kitten” by Metric from their Synthetica album! I really enjoy her voice and the lyrics are prime!

“Dans Le Lab” was a great wild find by 2manydjs from the Banger album! Fast, unique, and definitely enjoyable!

New jam today is the single “Just For Me” by Kiss the Scientist. This pop-punk/emo sound is amazing, definitely glad I was turned onto these guys by a good friend!

Go-to song today is “All I Need” by Clams Casino from his Instrumentals album. Pure ethereal goodness, with a non-traditional dark spin

Really enjoy ‘Help I’m alive’.

2ManyDJs live at a festival was one of my all time highlights ever musically. I didn’t go to the headliner act, just so I could stay there.

New song today is the single “Meant Well” by Iris Blue. I really enjoyed the melancholic lyrics (seems to be a pattern of mine) and the lead singers voice has a unique gritty style that I like!

My go-to track today is “It’s Alright” by Mother Mother from their Dance and Cry album. I thoroughly enjoy most of their music, but this one is top tier with awesome rhythms and relatable lyrics!

New jam today is “Burn Alive” by The Last Dinner Party from their Prelude to Ecstasy album. I enjoyed album a lot, but this song stood out!

For my go-to song today I have “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!” by BABYMETAL from their BABYMETAL album. Their “kawaii metal” sound is something I really appreciate! I’ve been lucky enough to see this amazing group perform live with my brother and niece! It was an amazing, energetic show! Fingers crossed I will be able to see them again in September of this year as they are on tour again, hopefully with both my niece and nephew this time! :love_you_gesture::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

New track today is “Premonitions” by Synestia from their Premonitions album. “Hard” is too soft a word to describe this song. It’s oganesson level heavy.

My go-to song today is the single “Impatience is Virtue” by Texas Gigantism. There are a few death metal bands from Texas that I’m a fan of, this is one of them!

My go-to jam today is the single “NIGHTMARES” by brother sundance. This song hits hard, lyrically and rhythmically.

It’s awesome to see someone diving back into Twenty One Pilots like that. “The Pantaloon” is such a classic choice to start with, the lyrics in their self-titled album have a depth that really sticks with you.

New song today is “The Vermin Devourer” by Analepsy from their Atrocities from Beyond album. Heavy from head to toe, I appreciate the brutality of the lyrics and sounds :squinting_face_with_tongue:

My go-to track today I chose “NJ Legion Iced Tea” by A Day To Remember from their Homesick album. This one takes me back, full of amazing vocals and some classic pop-punk vibes.
