Echos of Then, Sounds of Now

Awesome, glad you enjoyed it! I’ll keep an ear open for some underground artists for ya!

New jam today is a track called “It’s Almost Like You’re Here” by Yndling from her Time Time Time (I’m in the Palm of Your Hand) album. Love the drums and spacey feel to her music, definitely going to be listening to more.

For a go-to song today I have the single “Love Me Anyway” by Chappell Roan. As much as I love songs like “HOT TO GO!” and “Pink Pony Club”, this song really hits home. Hard to go wrong with any of her music though!

Today’s new music is a track called “Garden of Eden” by Rachel Chinouriri from her What A Devastating Turn of Events album. I love the emotion in her voice and the authenticity in her lyrics.

For my go-to jam I have “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” by Gordon Lightfoot from his Summertime Dream album. There is a real melancholic sound to this song, but despite the sadness I always enjoy listening.

I just listened, I like it! I decided to listen to more of the Romance album and came across “Starburster” which I had heard before and really vibed with! The intakes of breath are intense!

New music today is a single called “Star Shaped Baby” by Remy Bond. Modern day doo-wop and 50’s rock sound has me swaying!

For a song that’s been on repeat for years is “Point Of No Return” by Immortal Technique from his Revolutionary Vol. 2 album. Heavy content, heavy sounds, heavy words.

Amazing! Just listened to the album! I really enjoyed the songs “Nobody” and “Babylon”! Crazy how much some of the sounds from a couple of my favorite bands like Korn and Coheed and Cambria have in common with Skindred!

Thanks for the recommendation! Definitely adding a few from this album to my favorites playlist. I’ll be doing some more listening to their Smile album and I’m looking forward to hearing their new You Got This album coming out in April!

My good friend I grew up with recommended this band and probably 20 or 25 years he has never been wrong lol .. Romace is so awesome.. They remind me of like 4 or 5 bands I like a lot just can’t pin point it but of course they have there own sound

Possibly like a blend of nirvana, the cure, or stuff like that.. maybe I’m wrong

Sounds like a reliable friend!

Sometimes, like in the post above, I talk about being able to hear specific elements from certain artists in other bands. But then there are times that it is really hard for me to pin down anything but a unique sound! Maybe that’s part of the magic of music?!

New song for me today is the single “Witches” by Alice Phoebe Lou. Love her voice and the electronic goodness!

For one of my favorites I have “That Funny Feeling” by Bo Burnham from his Inside album. This whole album really helped me get through the Covid-19 pandemic and a bad break up so it has a lot of memories associated with it, but content wise it’s one of my favorites of all time

For today’s newly found song I have “Alwxys” by Last Dinosaurs from their Wellnxess album! Love their vibe and oldschool sound

As for the go-to track I have “Sorry You’re Not a Winner” from Enter Shikari from their Take to the Skies album. This band reminds me of being young and ready to take on the world. Love the heavy rhythms mixed with synth!

New music today is a song called “Chase the Feeling” by The Devil Makes Three from their Redemption & Ruin album! Folk is a new genre for me but I’m enjoying the sounds and lyrics!

For a go-to track I have the single “Dreams” by Nuages. The incorporation of quotes by Alan Watts about dreams with crazy ethereal vocals, amazing rhythms, and specific sounds like water droplets is an undeniably amazing combination in my opinion. This track will never be skipped in my house.

Today’s new find is the new single “I Don’t Think It’s the Right Time for Emojis” by Hot Mulligan. I’m a big fan of the lead singers voice and the energy that it brings!

Speaking of Hot Mulligan, my go-to jam today is another one by them called “BCKYRD” from their you’ll be fine album. Again, his voice just lands so perfectly with the post-emo vibe. Love this track.

I know that you said video links don’t work and to give description, hopefully photos are OK but if not, I totally understand. This is a picture of the records I probably listen to the most as far as a daily basis..

Good kid maad city - Kendrick Lamar
Joan Baez- greatest hits
Alanis Morissette- Jagged little pill
Mac Miller- Swimming
The Jimi Hendrix experience- are you experienced
Nat king Cole and Lester young .. I don’t know much about this one but really like listening to this after a really long day at work.

I’m definitely Overdue for a record or a cool purchase because the last vinyl I got was the Alanis Morissette record.. maybe a Green Day or similar pop punk record to add to my collection. Possibly without even realizing I’m trying to get some of my favorites or like a good collection of Classics before I start getting more modern records or something I never heard of.

PS: in the Jimi Hendrix record the sleeve or whatever its called is a rush sleeve .. I Can’t tell what album it’s from but still I’m not mad about that and actually pretty cool.

Photos are most definitely welcome, I love seeing album artwork!!

Looks like a good bunch of artists and albums! Green Day has and will always be one of my favorite bands for a lot of reasons, definitely can’t go wrong there!

Like I mentioned before, I miss the physicality of music. It’s really cool to see you building something you can hold and feel, seems special! Modern or classic, definitely keep it up! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

New track for today is “Steel Spine” by LOCKED SHUT from their The New Chaos album. This was recommended by an old friend and boy oh boy did he nail my hardcore interest on the head! Two step madness all over this album :squinting_face_with_tongue:

For a solid jam that makes me feel I’ve got “I Don’t Wanna Have to Lie” by LOLO from her In Loving Memory of When I Gave a Shit album. Definitely a favorite of mine thanks to the lyrics and voice!

For a go-to jam today I have “Your Glass House” by Atmosphere from his When Life Gives You Lemons album. Thanks to a last minute opportunity I’m going to see him live tonight with some good friends, so I’m very excited! This track is one of my favorites thanks to the relatable lyrics and great twist at the end
