Echos of Then, Sounds of Now

I’m going to throw Sol Seppy and King Creosote (Diamond Mine, specifically) in to the hat.

Thank you for both of these suggestions! I hadn’t heard any of their music, but I am glad I have now!!

I really enjoyed the songs “Move” and “Alaska Wilds” by Sol Seepy! The mellow, melancholic dreamy vibe is very appealing to me! And the songs “Bats In The Attic” and “Something To Believe In” by King Creosote were a couple of my favorites. His voice is amazing!

Today I have three tracks, all involving the artist Subtronics. A solo track and a couple collaborations with other artists! Big bass, big wubs.

First up is the song is a single called “Itchy Scratchy”. This one is wild, wonky, and while it is a relatively new release, takes me back to the golden days of Borgore.

Second is another single called “Sploinky Dub” a collaboration with Grech. This one is headbang worthy with its heavy bass and speed changes!

Last but most certainly not least is a single called “A.F.B.1.” a collaboration with Excision. This one goes hard, and makes me want to don a “stanky face” near the end of the track with how heavy it gets.

Wow! Thats MY kind of music. When the singer started, i thought… ehmmm, m…, but the beats and guitars, yes!

My favorite for now is Volbeat, Disturbed. I love the sound of Rammstein, but German is hard to listen to :)))

HEALTH is a band I will listen to in any mood! I’m looking forward to seeing them live!

“A Warriors Call” is a classic song for me by Volbeat, and “Stupify” by Disturbed is one of my favorites! These bands have been in my life for a long time, but I haven’t listened to them in while! Thanks for the reminder :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

I hadn’t heard of her, but I really liked this song “In A Galaxy” by Rina Mushonga! Looking forward to looking into more of her music!

Glass Animals is a jam! Their “Heat Wave” hit the radio so hard a few years ago! I really like their How To Be A Human Being album, particularly the song “The Other Side Of Paradise”! Their lead singer has such a unique voice.

I’m not super familiar with too much of the music made by Amy Winehouse, but “Rehab” I am familiar with

New jam today is one that will go down in my book as a forever song called “Snow on The Bluff” by Evening Elephants from their Carefree, very album. I can’t say enough good things about this song and this album as a whole

For a good ass go-to track I have the single “Still” by Eddie Zuko. This one is ideal for a slow cruise down whatever road goes down the middle of your town, no matter where you live :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

I can’t remember if they were an organic find or if they were recommended by a friend, but the second I heard Poulsens voice I knew I was a fan! Not sure if heavy metal is your speed, but he also formed a band called Asinhell!

Don’t sweat it, I’m just glad you are here staying in touch! I’m going to include a link to a page about “Urge Surfing”. This is a DBT skill I use when urges to drink or use seem to be overwhelming or never ending! Maybe it will help with your cravings!

Looking forward to sharing more music and recovery skills with each other! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

Today I have three songs from the artist Sub Urban. He is releasing a new album on March 31st, and I’m re-familiarizing myself with all of his work.

First up is the single “Candles”. This was the first piece of music I heard made by Sub Urban and I’ve been a fan ever since. Great lyrics, amazing sounds, and a couple unique drops that are very memorable!

Second is his collaboration with AURORA on the single “PARAMOUR”. Another great jam, with peculiar instrumental work, solid bass, and wild rhythms. AURORA will forever be one of my favorites, a true musical legend of our time :crown:

Third up is the song “UH OH” on his HIVE album featuring BENEE. I heard this one along with the music video which made quite the impression. Again, amazing drops and great lyrical play. BENEE has an amazing voice that adds to the vibe.

Another 3 piece today! Chinese American Bear is the group, groovy is the vibe. These two are releasing a new album on May 8th, thought I’d do a little dive into their work beforehand.

First up is the song “爱的大巴(Love Bus)” from their Chinese American Bear album. Simple yet diverse. Great jam for a sunny morning!

Second is the song “Take Me To Beijing (一起回北京)” from their Wah!!! album. This is my favorite song by this duo. It has everything I want in a song, including but not limited to synth, ethereal vocals, and some awesome rhythms

Third is the song “No No Yeah Yeah (不不好啊好啊)” from their upcoming Dim Sum & Then Some album. Definitely one to make me tap my foot and sway my hips!

Today’s new jam is a song called “Dina” by Sports from their Naked All the Time album. I appreciate the melancholy of the lyrics and sounds in this song, and the album as a whole

For my go-to I have a hell of a track named “Shy Girl” by Haute & Freddy from their Big Disgrace album. This song makes me feel invincible and makes me want to dance no matter who is watching :mirror_ball::man_dancing::mirror_ball:

Cool idea for a thread. Lately I have been going back to older albums and rediscovering stuff I ignored years ago. One that surprised me again recently was Random Access Memories by Daft Punk, still sounds fresh even after all this time. Curious what others will drop here too.

I’m definitely doing some exploring on this thread! I appreciate the suggestion, I haven’t listened to Daft Punk since the TRON: Legacy album! Their Discovery album is so classic, hard to go wrong :mirror_ball::call_me_hand:
