Everything Music

I never heard of John bastiste Till I saw this performance. Mac was such an incredible artist. Put out an incredible amount of material, albums, worked with so many people. He put a lot of work to get to where he got to. Played all kinds of instruments not just rapping and vocals. He has a lot of live performances with real instruments. And has a lot of lyrics that pretty much everyone on this site can relate to. Unfortunately he passed away three years ago from this disease. Doesn’t matter how much money you have. Or your status or anything like that it really doesn’t discriminate. But his music lives on forever … There’s so much I could say about that dude… If you spend the time to look into his music, or just give it a chance you will see…

This is cool. I just looked this band up. They play well together. It’s catchy which definitely works but it’s got its own originality throughout the whole song. And some really interesting changes. To me the drummer and Vocalist/guitar stand out the most. It’s crazy how much music is out there. Thanks for posting

My YouTube instrumentals project has been in the making for about a year now so I feel you

I have four done just redoing the videos then deciding what direction I want to go, someone gave me the idea of mounting action cameras to my guitars and cutting in cool shots. So I keep putting it off more to get better I just need to shut up and do it

I guess that’s the cool thing though because it’s like you’re never done improving or working on stuff. I literally like sometimes will sit my phone against the tree across the street and just get little clips here and there really just for myself. But I really do want to start documenting the street performing a lot more. There’s just so many people you meet and you can seriously get some interesting characters. I think right now the main goal obviously is staying sober. But I’m just gonna keep playing my songs Every single day. And all the new ones that I’ve wrote since going out I’m just gonna try to get recorded really basically and then upload. I have a goal for June but I’m not stressing it.

Lately, I have been on an Avett Brothers kick. I think since they have battled addiction, I relate to their songs.

When I hear one of their songs, it reminds me of the first time I read the Big Book- “Oh, that is about me”

I can relate to that. It’s really good to lean on Music whether good times or bad times. And I also have so many artist that I relate to on a daily basis. I have not heard of this band. I will definitely give this a listen and check them out. I grew up on classic Rock, And 90s grunge punk, but now I listen to everything Bluegrass, rap, country, like you said as long as it has something to say and sounds good

I was trying to find the sober musicians page or something related but could not. This will work for now. I have not been posting about my music or playing as much lately because I have not played guitar at all in maybe three weeks… I have been playing for 20 years. That’s how it always goes. I play like crazy for 11 months and busking and open mics and then I get burnt out on my own music.

I’m trying to become more involved in this community. And not be afraid. Music is the only thing that I really understand but at the same time I don’t understand it at all. In the traditional sense I don’t understand music.

When I was in Tucson I was busking six days a week and really all of my new songs were being created outside. Now I think it’s time to record and try new projects and maybe new instruments.

The picture of the guitar is an amazing Deal for lack of better words I got this guitar for like $150. If I were to guess it’s probably $1000 guitar in the case at least 100. I got it at a garage sale and the guy was a jerk it was just one of those days where it’s a musicians dream. I’ve had in storage for a long time and now I’m going to clean it up and get the stickers off. I don’t understand anybody who put stickers on guitars but to each his own. Also I’m going to take it apart and try to understand it better because I normally don’t play Floyd Rose … I change my strings pretty often so I have to learn how to do that differently with this. I’ll probably do a tuneup on it and I really want to do a swirl paint job on it just like my telecaster. That would require a few supplies and some paint and I will need to get some tools.

Not sure if anybody else has any projects going on whether musically or taking apart guitars or anything?? Any advice ?? I know there is a couple threads but I was having difficulty finding anything recent.

Keep listening to music everyone! God bless

I was at this show! If you ever get a chance make a journey out to red rocks, if you haven’t been of course

That’s crazy I can’t imagine that. That’s so awesome. I go back to this performance on YouTube to watch it so many times… And I have never been to red rocks. That’s in Colorado right? I’ve been to Breckenridge and Denver but I’ve never seen any shows or concerts in Colorado

Got the stickers off took about an hour maybe a little bit more. Tomorrow after work I’ll take it apart and clean it up And change the strings. I think the whammy bar is in the case I hope

I’m totally spoiled because it’s so close! We usually hit 4-5 red rocks shows every summer!

I really haven’t seen that many shows. I liked Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age the most so far. I would definitely like to see Billy strings at some point

Foo Fighters was in Atlanta at the old Braves stadium that was really cool

I think Billy came to Jacksonville right before I got back here so I just missed him
