I am trying to quit alcohol…
Beed addicted around 3-4 years now I guess.
Initially I started drinking when I had free time. Never really understood when it took over my life and turned into an addiction. It has strained my relationship with my wife. I never was a really good husband till now. I also have a 10 month old daughter. I hope to be a good father for her and a better person.
I wish to start my life afresh. It feels like my wife has lost all hope in me but I need her by my side in this struggle.
I hope to get some tips from people who are doing better than me.
Please help me
Stay strong, with everyday you are sober her faith in you will get stronger
Welcome PK. This place has been essential in keeping me sober and committed. I had been trying for years to let go of alcohol, but only when I accepted, that nothing good came from drinking, I had given up control over my life to my addiction and I needed help, I could make it last. You`ll have to do the work yourself, but theres a great community here to help you walk the steps. Hope to see you around ![]()

Hi…thanks for checking up on me…still going strong…i think i don’t feel the urge to drink when i am busy…it is times when i am alone and got nothing to do is when those desires will haunt me
Glad to hear you are going strong. Yes, being bored is a tough one. When I get feeling like that I do something around the house or go for a small walk or start watching a movie. It usually helps me get over the hump.
I’ll surely try that. I’ve also read that doing some physical activity might help.
Good morning/ evening depending on where you are in this world. Hope today bring you joy and you get to snuggle with your baby girl. You doing great . Stay sober with us today. I’m committed to doing whatever it takes today, to go to bed sober tonight.
If you are feeling alone maybe try in person or online meeting. I have done online ones when I have had urges, it helped a lot. and I was able to get through the urge and stay sober that day.
You will discover what works for you and what doesn’t. It is a journey that we take one day at a time
